Re: Combine activity into single clip?

Hi wetsnapper, It sounds like you're using the default "Any object, anywhere" rule. Are you referring to many clips being generated in the search view of Sighthound Video, or in the actual files on disk? Sighthound's data files are not intended to be directly interacted with and don't line...

Re: Large (70+) installation?

Hi Gene, While some people have done 30/40 camera installations with Sighthound Video on a single purpose-built machine you would probably have a challenge getting to 70. In additions to CPU constraints you will quickly start encountering I/O capacity issues with hard drives for instance. You're wel...

Re: Live Stream to Digital Sign

Hi,

Sighthound Video is probably not the right tool for this purpose. I'm not familiar with what software or features your sign may or may not have, you likely want to contact the manufacturer and see if they have a recommended solution for live video.

Best,

Re: Support for 'digest' authentication

Hi avargaskun, I think there may be some confusion here, I'd expect Sighthound to be able to connect regardless of whether your camera requests basic or digest auth. The only authorization issues we've ever had are when a given camera model violates the http spec in, well, "interesting" wa...

Re: WebAPI

Hi JustATester818, While we don't have an official API at this time (though we do plan to offer one in the future) I'm happy to point you in the right direction to get a local solution for yourself working. https://www.sighthound.com/forums/topic11957 has a bit of info on how to interact with the sy...

Re: Remote Access rights

Hi JohnS, The remote web files originate in the following locations (assuming default installation directories): OS X: /Applications/Sighthound Video.app/Contents/remoteApp/* Win: C:\Program Files (x86)\Sighthound Video\remoteApp\* Note that it isn't expected that users would modify these files and ...

Re: Remote Arm/Disarm

@HITECHTLS - I don't typically see much of any delay with IFTTT, perhaps a specific response you are using has more builtin delay? @shawneric - The remote access web interface supports enabling and disabling individual rules. We will also add this option to the mobile apps in a future release. As fo...

Re: Too Resource Intensive

Hi shawneric, The easiest ways to reduce CPU load would be to change the settings of the incoming video streams. Decreasing frame rate and/or resolution can have substantial impacts on performance. Sighthound Video only requires 10fps to function, and decreasing from 30fps to 15 or 10 means 2x or 3x...

Re: Multiprocessor support

Hi ishmell, My guess is that you're bottlenecked on CPU rather than memory. Changing your OS from 32 to 64 bit will not have an impact on Sighthound's performance, but a faster processor would. You can see some example system configurations and compare your own processor with the systems at the bott...
