WebAPI

by JustATester818 » Thu Oct 01, 2015 8:05 pm

I've been looking for any data on a web API. I'm looking to grab H.264 streams straight out of Sighthound. I'm looking to stream them to a Raspberry Pi using OMXPlayer, but I can't seem to find anything that indicates that there is a way to get a stream out of Sighthound for individual cameras.

Any ideas?

For clarification, I am currently running Blue Iris and Sighthound in parallel. I'm looking into cutting over, but there are certain things that I'm having trouble with. The first is this since my monitors around the house need to stream. On BI you can grab the stream from:

http://<BIhostname>/h264/<camerashortname>/h264.ts

Is there any equivalent in SH?

Hi JustATester818,

While we don't have an official API at this time (though we do plan to offer one in the future) I'm happy to point you in the right direction to get a local solution for yourself working.

topic11957 has a bit of info on how to interact with the system from the command line if that is useful, and the source that runs the remote access webpage is of course available and present on your system. You can find the source for that as described in topic12120#p16591 and for the h264 live stream specifically you'd want to search for remoteGetCameraURI.

Best,
