Support for 'digest' authentication

by avargaskun » Sat Oct 10, 2015 2:17 pm

Hi there,

I have been able to hook up my alarm.com cameras with Sighthound but after a few hours of things working correctly I ran into a problem. It seems as if my security system provider routinely resets the authentication mode of the camera to 'digest' (I had manually changed it to 'basic' to get it to work with Sighthound).

Are there any plans in the near term future to support 'digest' authentication? For the time being I may simply remove the cameras I'm mostly interested in using with Sighthound from the security system, but I would prefer if this wasn't the long-term solution.

Thanks!
Antonio.

Hi avargaskun,

I think there may be some confusion here, I'd expect Sighthound to be able to connect regardless of whether your camera requests basic or digest auth. The only authorization issues we've ever had are when a given camera model violates the http spec in, well, "interesting" ways.
