Re: Remote Arm/Disarm

It would be fantastic to have Sighthound Video be a 'that' target for IFTTT recipes, however there are some major technical barriers that make this impossible in the current application. The biggest being that Sighthound Video is a service that runs on your local machine, not in the cloud. Your data...

Re: runtime error in windows

Hi cherowley, Sorry to hear you're encountering trouble. This is a bit of a catchall error from windows that could occur for a variety of reasons. If it just recently began occurring for you with the same version of the application it's cause could be external to Sighthound Video itself. Can you sub...

Re: Viewing Recorded Footage

Hi, I suspect you may be on Windows XP? Which shipped with virtually no codec/format support. .mp4 files are a very standard container format, and the video is encoded in h264. These should play in any media player, including VLC, Quicktime, and Windows Media Player with h264 codec support installed...

Re: backing up video to Google Drive or other cloud drive.

You probably want to use the "export to local folder" response to only store certain matching clips rather than having your entire data directory backed up by google drive. Files created by responses such as this and ftp are never deleted (they are assumed to be for archival purposes) http...

Re: Cannot post replies in EDGE browser

Thanks for the heads up Semper. We haven't encountered any trouble internally, but we'll see if we can reproduce this and get a fix in place.

Best,

Re: Snapshot of motion detection

Hi Matteo,

There isn't a way to do this at the moment, but it's something we would like to support in the future.

Best,

Re: Camera viewing

Hi Ray,

Sighthound Video only maintains a connection to cameras when they are on and have scheduled rules. Sighthound Video does not currently support a view only mode, though we'll take that as a feature request for future consideration.

Best,

Re: Second install too restricted

Hi Carpe, Sorry you encountered trouble with your trial. The automatic trial license system covers most cases but necessarily has some limitations to prevent abuse. We're always happy to issue temporary licenses if someone needs to switch computers or needs an additional trial for other reasons. Hop...

Re: Location-Based Dis/Arming

It's standard HTTP auth so you could simply include the user/pass in the URL and remove the auth header. The following is equivalent (other headers were pretty and spec compliant, but optional as well). curl 'http://USER:PASS@IP:PORT/xmlrpc/' --data-binary $'<?xml version=\'1.0\'?><methodCall><metho...

Re: "Permanently delete source video" does not delete videos

Hi Ghiizhar, When you select a clip or clips and choose to permanently delete it is only deleting the video contained within that clip or clips. Other neighboring video will still be intact and managed based on your configured preferences for preserving video, so if you examine the data directories ...
