Re: Foscam C1

If the camera is hanging until you reset it by changing ports or other action I'm afraid there's nothing we can do from the Sighthound side, that would just be a bug in the camera. It looks like there may be a newer firmware version for the C1, the following link lists a 2.X.2.37: http://www.foscam....

Re: Using a cheap mini-PC as a stand-alone machine?

It doesn't seem that anyone who has seen your post has experience with these. In general Sighthound can't recommend hardware we haven't used as a best guess isn't always going to work out. I can say that 2 gigs of ram would not be sufficient for 4+ cameras. That processor is also terribly slow. If y...

Re: Hardware Acceleration Error

Is it correct that you are not running under any Remote Desktop or VNC style software, or within a virtual machine, but are instead on a native system itself? The accelerated video playback in SV4.0 requires support for OpenGL 2 and above which was released in 2004. This should generally not be an i...

Re: Feature Request = Linux Support

We certainly care and I would love to offer a Linux version. In fact, if it were any small/moderate task we'd be working on it already just to satisfy Sighthound employees. Unfortunately even with a head start on cross platform compatibility from supporting both Windows and macOS variants it would b...

Re: Strange problems

If your cameras support ONVIF (they show up in the auto-detection screen) I'd highly recommend using that rather than manual. It will automatically grab the correct video settings, and the app will still be able to connect to the camera even if the IP address changes. If you'd like to send an email ...

Re: Export video clips

VLC is a great media player on any OS that will be compatible with just about any file you can ever find.

Exported clips should play with the native media players on macOS and Windows 8 and newer, but Windows 7 users may need to install additional video codecs or use a separate player such as VLC.

Re: Requirements for a new setup. Intel NUC?

We've updated the examples in the system requirements article to reflect 4.0 which hopefully give you an idea of processing power required for different scenarios. Actual requirements can vary with different cameras, scenes, and activity levels, but these should be representative a typical home inst...

Re: Strange problems

⋅ When you say that the cameras are configured correctly does that mean they were working in SV at one point? ⋅ Did they appear on the camera test screen during setup? ⋅ Are you configuring via ONVIF/auto-detection, or did you manually enter the configuration settings?

Re: Stuck on Version 3.0.2

It appears that there can be some trouble with the auto-updater on macOS 10.12 (Sierra). Until we discover what has changed from 10.11 that is blocking the auto-install you can workaround by manually installing the updates: ⋅ Turn off all cameras in Sighthound Video and Quit ⋅ Vi...

Re: Upgraded to 4.0 - Clips no longer play in browser

Hi WfromL, It does not seem that there is a general Win7+Firefox issue with SV 4.X remote access so we may need to isolate what is different on your machine from others, such as apps or plugins that may be interfering. My win7 machine (64 bit, home premium, sp1) had a fairly old version of Firefox i...
