Strange problems

by macrhino » Mon Jan 16, 2017 1:51 pm

Firstly let me thank you for the quick response on the trial. However I am having huge problems.

(no paste in camera config screens?)

Here you see two cameras, correctly configured, yet Sighthound will not communicate. The picture is fine in the browser and with Blue Iris.

Ideas?

The Camera set up seems to be cumbersome. Why is there no unified screen? I understand the Wizard type set up but many people don't need this.

  • When you say that the cameras are configured correctly does that mean they were working in SV at one point?
  • Did they appear on the camera test screen during setup?
  • Are you configuring via ONVIF/auto-detection, or did you manually enter the configuration settings?

I mean that the camera type is correct and the address to access is the as shown on the web page. In addition, Blue Iris sees it with the same camera and address.

I think I could see the camera when I did set up. And I manually entered the information.

If your cameras support ONVIF (they show up in the auto-detection screen) I'd highly recommend using that rather than manual. It will automatically grab the correct video settings, and the app will still be able to connect to the camera even if the IP address changes.

If you'd like to send an email to [email protected] noting the camera models and URLs you're trying to use we can take a look. You can also use "Help->Report a Problem..." to do so noting the camera models and it will send us the configuration and other diagnostic info automatically.
