Re: How can we keep recording once a clip is started?

Hi Alkoch, If you have a rule set to trigger when entering, exiting or crossing a boundary the clip will only capture this single event. If you use a region (anywhere, inside, outside, on top of) the event will be as long as movement is detected within the region and so the clip will be longer. For ...

Re: Ubiquity Dome Fw 3.0.9.25 Problem

Hi kaisersousa, We have not yet received any other reports of this issue. Have you verified that the IP address is still correct? When you updated the firmware it's possible the camera received a new IP address. Some cameras reset to factory settings when updated so if you are using a custom usernam...

Re: How do you "apply" a new rule after the fact?

Hi Alkoch, Temporary video is all video (24/7 if you have your rule scheduled 24/7) regardless of motion detected. The person/object detection needs this temporary video so that it can analyze and track all movement between frames and decide what is a person or an object or what should be ignored. R...

Re: Mobile App: Video vs. Image Stream.

Hi Alkoch, 1) The image stream is an alternate streaming option for those with devices that do not support HLS. It's simply a stream of images rather than full video. 2) The mobile app receives the video streams and clips directly from the Sighthound application and not the cameras, so their distanc...

Re: Garbled" video is causing spurious recordings

Hi Alkoch,

For the stream path you will want to enter "profile5/media.smp?svforcetcp". I've attached a screenshot as well.

Re: Mobile App: A Security Concern

Hi Alkoch, If you go to the Settings menu on the app you will see a logout button. We do not require the user to log in every time the exit the app because it is assumed if they are worried about security they will have a lock on their mobile device and it would be inconvenient to have to log in eve...

Re: Where are "mystery" clips coming from?

Hi Alkoch,

When you quick delete all of your clips then the temporary video is still accessible to browse in the search view. This is mainly used to "clean up" your search list. If you do not want the video to exist please use the permanently delete option.

Re: How can we keep recording once a clip is started?

Hi Alkoch, It's hard to say what the best rule configuration would be without seeing your scene but it currently isn't possible to track just a specific person over a long period of time. If they are the only person that will be in the room I'd recommend using "All objects" as they should ...

Re: How do you "apply" a new rule after the fact?

Hi Alkoch, I'll try my best to answer your questions: 1) When you create a new rule and select it in the Search View, Sighthound will search all temporary video for clips that match. Please see https://www.sighthound.com/support/managing-your-video for more details 2) If you know the time this even ...

Re: Why can't we view a live stream without having a Rule th

Hi Alkoch, If there are no rules enable or scheduled then Sighthound does not record or stream the video to save on disk space, cpu, and bandwidth. It is assumed that if you do not have a rule set for a camera at a given time then you aren't interested in what may happen on that camera. Sighthound i...
