Re: Using VDV with cattle

Hi Johno, Animals should not be detected as people. We don't have personal experience with cows, but it has been tested with other animals such as deer, and extensively with pets such as cats. Things should be fairly reliable, the biggest problem we've had is with animals walking straight toward the...

Re: Not saving footage....Am I expecting too much?

Did you tell VDV that it can use more space? The default is 25 gigs, if your camera is high resolution it might consume most of this with cache (depending on what you have the cache value set to), not leaving much room for clips.

Re: Not saving footage....Am I expecting too much?

Hi the1lemming, Are you sure that the rules for the clips you still expect to be there have "save" as a response option? Please also note that this option must be enabled when the rule triggered the clip (responses aren't applied retroactively). http://www.vitamindinc.com/support/ref_guide...

Re: email alert

http://www.vitamindinc.com/support/ref_ ... onse_block should help. Please note that the FTP response is only available in the paid versions of Vitamin D Video.

Hiya Paul,

I'm afraid the current version of the software doesn't support this feature.

Re: Dahua?

Hi mweston, According to a post I found here: http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=31849 you might try using rtsp, a port of 554, and a stream path of cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=1 If that doesn't work, this post gives an overview of what VDV requires and might be useful: http...

Re: VDV Beta versions

Hi goldie25, You probably just need to enable the display of hidden folders, or you can use the address bar to enter the path manually. According to the internet (I'm not on a windows machine right now so can't verify, hope these are correct or close enough to help) go to the control panel, choose a...

Re: Questions

Hey xper,

Glad you're enjoying things so far! A current workaround for saving specific clips to a directory is to run a local ftp server with the root at the target directory and use the ftp response on the rules whose clips you want placed in that directory.

Hope that helps,
- ryan
