Re: Saving motion detected footage...I'm confused

Hiya, Vitamin D will save ALL video for a short period of time. This is useful for instance if you know something happened but you didn't have a rule configured for that scenario. After that period of time however, all video that did not have a corresponding rule marking the video to be saved will b...

Re: ftp queue

Hi Eddiemoy, VDV is always trying to upload, so a kickstart option doesn't exist (and shouldn't be necessary). Could you choose "Report a problem" from the help menu? This will submit us some logs and we can see if anything fishy is going on. Same file uploaded repeatedly - do you have mul...

Re: Gmail Notification

Hi cng,

Are you using your full email address as the username, or only the part before "@gmail.com"?

Re: EYEsurv ESIP-MP1.3-BT1

Hi DrBunsen, You might try adding a tcp to the end of the URL, this is sometimes necessary for certain rtsp streams that don't provide correct formatting information. So the stream path would be "/cam/realmonitor?tcp" for example, or something like "/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subt...

Re: Does 'KWorld USB 2.0' Adapter Work On Win7?

Hi Tom,

A number of reviews on newegg and amazon claim that it does not work, despite the manufacturer claiming to have windows 7 drivers on their website, though http://www.amazon.com/review/RR7RCVG3CB ... _rtr_alt_5 says he eventually got it working.

Re: EYEsurv ESIP-MP1.3-BT1

Hi DrBunsen,

When you say vitamin d doesn't have the "admin:admin@" part, are you filling in "admin" in both the username and password fields? That will take care of that specific issue.

Re: Design Question

17 cameras should be possible on a sufficiently built dedicated machine. The limiting factor in this scenario (which might surprise you) is likely to be disk access. The users I've heard of doing large scale setups like this have been using various raid setups to help facilitate sufficient access sp...

Re: Camera event hysteresis / re-arming delay

It would be possible to add a feature to limit the frequency of emails sent but it does not exist at this time. Thanks for the feedback.

Re: Configure settings on network camera

Hi autodestruct, Glad you're enjoying the app! Thanks for the kind words. MJPEG will work just as well with VDV if you want to play with the quality options. I'd be willing to bet you can get higher quality images from MJPEG at the cost of significantly more bandwidth usage. I'd highly suggest wired...

Re: Configure settings on network camera

If you configured your camera before you had a paid license, or didn't adjust the 'scale video to' parameter when configuring the camera it may only be requesting a 320x240 stream (this would explain blockiness). The 320 stream for this camera would use a stream path of rtpOverHttp?Url=nphMpeg4/nil-...
