Gmail Notification

by cng » Sun Aug 05, 2012 8:14 pm

Greetings, my first post.

I'm using the free version and the set up was easy and I like what is offered. My email provided is Gmail

I'm trying to setup email notification and set up everything that was required. I used all the setting recommended from the link below:

http://vitamindinc.com/support/images/email-setup.jpg

When I clicked onto send test message, it "times out".

What can I do to make this work?

Hi cng,

Are you using your full email address as the username, or only the part before "@gmail.com"?

Hello rbrenes,

I'm sorry to hear you're still experiencing this issue. Please attempt to send a test message again, then send us a bug report by going to Help > Report a Problem so we can check your logs. If you could include an image of the email settings you are using that may be helpful as well.

Regards,

-Devin

Not a helpful thread, but this has high SEO rank so in case anyone else ends up on this page trying to solve this, this was how I solved it.

If using 2 factor auth you need to set up a unique "less secure" password for sighthound gmail access.

https://myaccount.google.com/lesssecureapps

Use the new password with the standard gmail settings from the Sighthound support page and that should work.
