I hope we will be looking for:

1. Date / Time Stamp
2. Audio recording in videos
3. Web server capability

Just to name a few....

When a new version is available the release notes will be listed in the update dialog as normal. Here are the notes for the current beta version:

  • Many new cameras and encoders added to the setup wizard:
    • AVTech AVI321 PTZ
    • Axis M1103, M1104, M1113
    • Compro IP60, IP540, IP570
    • D-Link DCS-910, DCS-930L
    • Edimax IC-3030PoE
    • Foscam FI8918W
    • KARE N5402JV, N5403JV, N7205JV
    • Loftek CXS 2200
    • Nilox 16NX2601FI002
    • Vivotek FD8134, IP8330
    • Yanmix EasySE-IR1, EasySE-IR2, EasySE-F1, EasySE-F2, EasySE-H3
Bug fixes
  • Fixed problem where some cameras couldn't be accessed if a username is specified but not a password.
  • Fixed some instances where two emails may have been received for the same alert.
  • Reduced memory usage of the video encoder when working with higher resolution.
  • Fixed a small resource leak if a camera failed to connect.

Hi Bigmack48,

The path for windows 7 would be "C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local\Vitamin D Video\updater.txt". I've added this to the original post, sorry for missing it before!

Hi, It may be a problem in my computer but I had to remove the 'www.' from the address in the updater text file to make it work.

I cannot get the link to work to download the Beta version file (i used the link in the downloaded text file and also used the suggestion of taking out the "www." shown in a previous post, but no luck).

On Chrome, it asks for me to log into your server, on windows explorer, it says the location doesn't exist, on Firefox, the screen shows "You don't have permission to access /update/publicbeta/ on this server."

Any suggestions about what I am doing incorrectly? I'd like to try the Beta.

thanks.....

I'm pretty sure you're doing it wrong. I reread the instructions and they say to put the updater.txt file into a particular folder. It sounds like you're trying to open it in a browser.

Hi tester,

DrBunsen is correct. Do not attempt to visit any links mentioned in the updater.txt file, but instead put the file itself it in the location mentioned in my original post that applies to your OS.
