Re: Record Stream 1, Snapshot from Stream 2

Hi Tony, Sighthound Video can record from any URL you'd like. In the camera configuration screen where you enter the username and password simply select "Other IP camera" rather than a specific model. This will expose a URL field that you can populate as desired. If you need help finding t...

Re: Poor Performance

Hi millenios, When you are in the monitor view do you see any warning icons next to the live view of your camera? If you would like to submit a bug report from inside the application via "Help->Report a Problem" we'd be happy to take a look and see if anything odd is occurring internally t...

Re: Camera picture Glitches

@Thomas Thanks for sharing. It is true that these cameras can work well but can also have trouble in certain configurations. @Fribur I suspect that your Vivotek issue when increasing CPU load is related to lost/dropped/delayed UDP packets, a TCP connection should prevent this. The unique oddity with...

Re: No Clip-Playback on iOS 7.1.2

Hi Isaac, Just as a further update, remote access is working properly in the version of Safari included with 10.10 (Yosemite) public preview. Hopefully the changes made to that version of safari will be pushed to older versions of OSX as well for those who don't update to 10.10 when it is released l...

Re: Program fails to start

This error message is almost always a result of something on the local machine blocking interprocess communication. This can happen on new installs, or on updates if an over-aggressive security application decides that it will block the differing binary. For others locating this post examples of con...

Re: username or password has changed...?

Hi Jigzat,

Are you ultimately able to log in from the application, or does is the message continually displayed? Are you able to log in to remote access from a web browser on your mobile device? Are you able to log in from a web browser on the computer running Sighthound Video?

Best,
- ryan

Re: 2.3 Update Fails

Hi Max&Leo,

We will absolutely look into trying to reproduce/locate and fix any issues users report, this one included. When possible we provide workarounds for people to use in the meantime as most would prefer not to wait for future releases to solve issues they are experiencing.

Best,
- ryan

Re: Remote access issue

Hi mzn, When the iOS app stops working can you still view the remote access connection by visiting the local address on the machine running Sighthound Video? Is Sighthound Video automatically opening an external port in your router, or did you configure that manually? When you mention that rebooting...

Re: Question before I purchase your software and gear!

Axis makes fantastic hardware, but I believe the 2100 and 2400 models are over a decade old so I doubt they are a good option. The 241Q is one of their more modern encoders which are great, but you won't get for $200.

Re: Question before I purchase your software and gear!

Yup, an IP encoder turns takes analog cameras, encodes their data into a digital stream (typically MJPEG, MPEG-4, or H.264), and then exposes that over some IP interface. Rather than separate IP addresses they typically have different URL targets, http://ip/stream1, http://ip/stream2, and so on. Num...
