No Clip-Playback on iOS 7.1.2

by isaac » Sat Aug 23, 2014 10:57 am

I am running Sighthound 2.3.1 on Mac OS 10.9.4.

When I logon with my iPhoneApp, I can see my camera thumbnails in the overview.

But when I select one camera, it will not play the lager version of the video-picture.
I also have the problem, that the iOS-App will not start playing the saved clips.
(Also only showing the thumbnails here)

Going through Google Chrome and the web-login will play it all.
Safari tells me, that I need to install Flash. (what I did... but still)

What can I do to get this working on iOS?!

Hi isaac,

There currently is a bug with the latest version of the iOS app which prevents users from viewing clips and the camera views when their remote access username or password contain a space, @, ? or \. Please enter a new username and password without these characters and try again. We have a fix in place for the next update which is currently undergoing testing.

Thank you so much!
Withs was a great help! It works fine now regarding the iPhone App.

The only thing left, that Apple-Safari still wants to have Flash installed.
But I am running the latest version.

There's a bug in Safari that won't allow basic auth credentials to be passed with live views. Apple is working on it. All other browsers are fine.

Hi Isaac,

Just as a further update, remote access is working properly in the version of Safari included with 10.10 (Yosemite) public preview. Hopefully the changes made to that version of safari will be pushed to older versions of OSX as well for those who don't update to 10.10 when it is released later this year.

I have the same problem, but it hasn't fixed with a password change. I tried using the %, and I like to have at least one symbol in my mix. Is there a list of symbols that work?

Hi Lenny,

The password issue was resolved in version 1.0.1 which is available in the App Store now. I would suggest verifying that you have the latest version of the app, and if it continues to have trouble something else may be occurring.

Are you able to connect to Sighthound Video's remote access from a web browser on any computer or device other than the one hosting Sighthound Video?

Best,
- ryan
