Re: FFmpeg processing options?

Hi beeftube, Happy to help out. While Sighthound Video does utilize FFmpeg libraries for a variety of video processing functionality there isn't a direct passthrough, nor 1:1 mapping. Forcing TCP in Sighthound Video does happen to work in a similar manner to what you mentioned, but the flag is "...

Re: What are the files in the Search list and the archive fo

Hi Al, Sighthound Video will use up to the amount of disk space specified in the options/preferences. It will first attempt to keep all video for X hours, also specified in options. After that point, assuming that there is space left, it will keep video that was marked to be saved by rules as long a...

Re: What are the files in the Search list and the archive fo

Hi Al, You are correct - you only deleted the segments of video contained within the clips you selected. All other video from other rules or from general cache will still exist until the time specified by your "keep all video for" setting. Permanent delete should only be used when you *nee...

Re: Where are the configuration files stored?

Hi Al, I would highly recommend you treat the Sighthound Video data directory as a black box. You can of course poke around there if you'd like, but keep in mind that nothing in that directory is intended to be modified or even viewed by an end user, and doing so may result in unexpected occurrences...

Re: Changing PC

Hi John, Thanks for your interest in Sighthound Video. We'll be glad to get you up and running on your laptop. I'm afraid I'm not sure what "already downloaded" message you're referring to. Are you seeing an error message on our website? Or within the application? You should be able to dow...

Re: Run SightHound over past video files?

Hi albright999,

Sighthound Video is only configured to analyze video streams rather than analyzing a store of pre-existing video files. It would be an interesting feature to add in the future, but I'm afraid there isn't a way to do that at the moment.

Best,
- ryan

Re: Unable to log into Sighthound video through proxy

Hi stiffx,

I'm afraid Sighthound Video does not currently have proxy support, but we'll add this to our feature request list for consideration in future versions.

Best,

Re: smtp email settings says password or user name are wrong

Hi Phillip, I'm sorry you're experiencing trouble with the email response, we'll be glad to help. That error message is returned by the server itself, not by the application. Please ensure that your settings are correct for your provider (whether they request login with full name "example@examp...

Re: Avtech AVM542B - wrong stream

Hi Johan, I don't know why there would be any difference between "live/video/profile2" and "live/video/profile1" as far as viewing from Sighthound Video is concerned - especially given that it sounds like the only difference between the two may be resolution? If you'd like to try...

Re: Can't login to the iphone app

@TNT Glad you got things working. The mac firewall is a little baffling in its behaviors and does seem to have a few bugs, though this might also vary with OS X version. After the workarounds we added it has been working well for all machines I've been able to test running 10.9.X or 10.10, but I kno...
