Re: Cisco CIVS-IPC-2421

Hi DAMelahn, Browsers are not always representative of what data VDV is receiving. The embedded browser version may be connecting to a different stream type (MJPEG can fall behind, whereas MPEG must process all frames), a different size/frame rate stream, tolerant of data loss (able to disconnect/re...

Re: Analyzing pre-recorded video

Hi Donone, VDV does not support importing pre-recorded video, please see http://vitamindvideo.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=509 for a bit of information. As someone mentioned there you could set up a stream of the video and add that to VDV as a 'camera', though it would process the video in rea...

Re: Automatically restart

Hi JPElectron, The strobe light is a cool project, thanks for sharing! That would make for a great "Person detected at front door" alert. Glad to hear that the latest version has been stable for you. If you do experience any crashes be sure to submit a bug report from inside the app and we...

Re: Can support any form of Tour cameras?

Hi, As Semper pointed out (thanks!) Vitamin D Video was designed to be used with fixed cameras, not moving cameras. Unfortunately Pan/Tilt/Zoom cameras do not send out information when they are going to move. Going off of an audio mute as you suggest would be unreliable (audio streams can go silent,...

Re: Can support any form of Tour cameras?

Hi, I'm afraid I don't know what a "Tour" camera is. Is it a brand? I'm also unable to tell from your post if you have the camera working with Vitamin D Video and are having errors inside the application, or if you are having trouble connecting. Let me know and I'll try to help further. - ...

Re: Serving cameras as ip

Upside down video - Vitamin D Video doesn't have support for inverting or mirroring video streams, it uses whatever is received from the source. You might want to check for settings like these in your streaming software. Connection speed - Are your computers wired or wireless? You might want to try ...

Re: Serving cameras as ip

VDV does not forward USB cameras to other computers. It is designed to monitor and perform analytics on video streams, not create the streams themselves.

Re: Serving cameras as ip

Hi Donone, VDV definitely works with remote video streams, this is how IP cameras function. You might find this post useful, which describes general tips for trying to get unknown IP cameras to work in VDV, some of the information will apply to troubleshooting general streams: http://vitamindvideo.c...
