Re: Database corruption - bad design

Hi J, I'm sorry this happened again! That is very odd and unfortunate - I've actively tried to make this happen on numerous occasions, ever think about being a software tester? I'll definitely take your feedback into account. If you'd like to submit a bug report from within the app I can take a look...

Re: Video from RTSP camera gets corrupted

Hi nimble99, Not knowing the camera or the settings it supports I'm not too sure what to suggest. The only combination of streaming supported is MPEG4 over RTSP? It very well might be that VDV might have some incompatibility with this specific stream, but we've seen various camera settings have larg...

Re: Database corruption - bad design

Hi visionik, I'm sorry you've had problems with DB corruption. I don't believe it is as common as you might think however (in fact I've only ever heard of a few cases). The computer I run VDV on loses power on an almost weekly basis (my apartment has poor wiring and trips fuses like crazy) and I hav...

Re: Videos copied to a new hard drive are not viewable

Hi rockdog, If you only copied the video files themselves VDV won't know anything about them (and in fact, since they are unknown files in its protected file structure they will likely be deleted). The actually information about objects that were tracked, etc... is stored in files contained in the V...

Re: Video from RTSP camera gets corrupted

Hi nimble99,

What camera are you using? Is it one listed by default in VDV, or did you provide the stream for it yourself? If it is one pre-configured in VDV have you customized any settings on the camera itself?

Thanks,
- ryan

Re: Video saved on FTP server ?

If you look at the raw video files in the archive directory where VDV normally saves video files do you also have problems playing those? If so something seems to be getting corrupted by your ftp server software, if not we'll know something is strange about the codecs your video player is trying to ...

Re: Rule

Semper is absolutely right (thanks for the reply!).

I would also add that you can consult http://www.vitamindinc.com/support/ref_guide_rules.html for details on how the 'on top of' rule works.

Re: vitamin d does not support iCamView

Hi wjungle, What exact settings are you using? If you've already tried manual configuration with pda.cgi?user=YOURUSERNAME&password=YOURPASSWORD&page=image&cam=1 then I would suggest trying the following: Protocol: http IP address: <whatever your camera's ip is> http port: <blank, unless...

Re: Mac OS X Lion

Hi mcode151, I have a macbook pro running 10.7.1 and can run VDV with the built in iSight. If you continue to have problems feel free to file a bug report from inside the application and we'll see if anything looks wrong in your log files. Do you have any other software that uses the webcam on your ...

Re: Video saved on FTP server ?

Hi gbell007,

The Vitamin D Video files should open correctly with all of the programs you listed. Are you trying to open them remotely on the server, or are you downloading them first?
