Mac OS X Lion

by bigkevx2 » Sat Jun 25, 2011 9:46 am

Hello all,

great job on this piece of software.
But before i upgrade to basic i would like to know if this program will work under Mac OS X Lion that will be released in a few weeks from now.
Anybody with the developers preview that have tested it?

Hi,

I have been running Vitamin D basic now in the new Mac Mini with Lion for some days. No problems, everything works.

Regards
Johannes

Been running under 10.7.1 and things have been great. One minor NOTE: Mac OS Lion not longer has support for GUI that turns on/off the FTP service built into the OS. So if you use this feature(for example: copy video from a rule to your Dropbox) then be aware you will have to do some terminal magic to make it work.

Any of you have success using built-in cameras?

~

Tried on two machines to no avail, both 2010 MacBookPro's w/ iSight. I'll try some 2009 & 2011 (w/ FaceTime HD) MacBook Pro's shortly and 2009 & 2010 iMac's as well, and I'll try a external camera too.

Since it was first time I've run it since upgrading to OSX 10.7.1 I did try a fresh copy of latest vitamin d 1.4.2 to the applications folder on one of the machines.

Hi mcode151,

I have a macbook pro running 10.7.1 and can run VDV with the built in iSight. If you continue to have problems feel free to file a bug report from inside the application and we'll see if anything looks wrong in your log files. Do you have any other software that uses the webcam on your machine, or any 3rd party video libraries installed? Keep in mind that only one application can successfully access a USB (or built in) camera at the same time.

Hi pcmac,

In the future we hope to have 'save to folder' as a rule response, which could be used to save clips to your dropbox folder to be synced. In the meantime one workaround is to run FTP software on your machine which points to your dropbox folder and use the existing 'upload to ftp' response.

Re: videos directory

Ryan:

where exactly is the vit D videos directory in Mac?

you previously advised not to use dropbox, what about the sync software below for google drive?

>>>It sounds like you set your entire videos directory to reside within dropbox? This probably won't work well for you as it will include all of the cache video as well (everything that is recorded). It will also have lots of file thrash as cache is cut into clips,

what about using this ?

"Super Flexible File Synchroniser -software which can automate the Sync of documents to your Google Drive.
