Rule

by m.p312 » Mon Sep 19, 2011 7:42 pm

Hi,

I just installed my FOSCAM and Vitamin D on my computer. I made a rule "On top of" in my driveway, wich look like this:

But VD record cars that pass on the street, like this:

What can I make to fix this ?

Thanks

If you look at the text at the bottom of each of the clips listed on the left, you see that it says those videos were "not saved by a rule"... those video clips will go away in about 2 days (or what ever time frame you have selected in the "Tools/Options..." dialog). Only videos that match your rule will be saved longer (until you start running out of disk space).

To review videos that were saved because of your defined rule, you can scroll through the list to look for clips that do not have that line at the bottom.

Or, you can click on the rule in the "Look for:" selection box (presently your rule is line 4 in that box). Then the list of clips below that will be only the ones that were saved because of that rule. You can define multiple rules and review only those videos that match each rule individually.

You may still see some rule-saved clips caused by cars in the street, if the car casts a shadow, or shine headlights or reflect sunlight (or other lights) into the region you have defined. But by selecting to show in the list only those clips that match your specific rule you will see what you are expecting.

Semper is absolutely right (thanks for the reply!).

I would also add that you can consult http://www.vitamindinc.com/support/ref_guide_rules.html for details on how the 'on top of' rule works.
