Re: Vacation Mode

Hi Johnny, Just to clear up any confusion, I think the 24/7 was just to have the camera on and monitoring, not necessarily setting the "temporarily keep all video" duration to a new value. That is to say - you could set a camera to record 24 hours a day that normally only records while you...

Re: Camera picture Glitches

@bryan - that's quite a frustrating upgrade path. As Jeremy mentioned, I'm not sure if there is a 'good' firmware version to use. I don't have one of these so I can't speak to it personally. Unfortunately there are lots of posts on this sort of issue with these cameras around the web, including fosc...

Re: Best CPU with lowest TDP for 3+ 1MP-Cameras?

Hiya,

We have a few example setups listed toward the bottom of this article that may help: http://www.sighthound.com/support/system-requirements

When comparing CPUs I find the site linked in that article, http://cpubenchmark.net/, to be incredibly helpful at comparing actual performance.

Re: Multithread-Support or 64-bit Version available?

Sighthound is a multiprocess application and does take advantage of multiple cores. There isn't a 64 bit version at the moment, but this shouldn't make any difference for you as an end user.

Re: Camera picture Glitches

Hi Bill, Your settings look like the attached screenshot? When you mention that you changed portforwarding settings on your router I'm afraid I'm not quite sure what that would do, are you using these cameras from a separate location? If not, that setting won't change anything - you aren't accepting...

Re: New User (Maybe)

Hi Larry, Thanks for your message. Pricing is a difficult problem, as it is impossible to meet everyone's needs at the same time (including ours to stay in business). We'll of course continuously evaluate our pricing model over time, but we don't have any plans to change it in the short term. Do not...

Re: Camera picture Glitches

Hi Walt, In general no, but I suppose it may be possible that if the stream is over UDP (a loss-acceptable transport, unlike TCP) and the network card has a limited buffer packets could conceivably be lost if the CPU can't empty it quickly enough, just as they could be lost en route on the network, ...

Re: Acti D32 camera, cannot get it to work

Hi Barry, I'm not sure what settings you changed on your camera from when it began working to when it stopped. This is the document the manufacturer uses to document how to retrieve streams: http://www.acti.com/getfile/KnowledgeBase_UploadFile/ACTi_Camera_URL_Commands_20120327_002.pdf It does at lea...

Re: full screen playback

Sighthound Video 2.2 will include arbitrarily resizeable playback in the search view. We're nearing completion of that release and it will hopefully be out relatively shortly.
