Re: Problem with program updates

Hi Andrew, I haven't heard of a problem like this before so I'm afraid I don't have a solution offhand. It sounds like something is blocking the update check to sighthound.com, whether on your machine, at your router, or somewhere between your house and our server. It's a simple web request, there i...

Re: iMac: i5 vs. i7 for Sighthount

Apologies for getting iMacs and minis mixed up in my head as I was replying. The mini stats from the article should still be somewhat in parallel.

Re: iMac: i5 vs. i7 for Sighthount

Hi Walt, We have a few example iMac systems here: http://www.sighthound.com/support/system-requirements The i7 definitely packs more power. For a more 'real' comparison of the capabilities of processors I find the website http://www.cpubenchmark.net/ infinitely helpful. Ram is definitely good to hav...

Re: Onvif

Hi Mark,

I'm afraid I can't guarantee anything as I don't have one of these cameras. If their support can provide you with a video stream URL that will work in any other media player such as Quicktime or VLC it should work in Sighthound Video as well.

Re: Onvif

Hi Mark, Have you tried using any of those URLs? You can try entering them into Sighthound Video directly, or in any media player. For Sighthound Video they would simply need to be split into the component parts, for example rtsp://IPADDRESS:554/user=[USERNAME]&password=[PASSWORD]&channel=1&...

Re: getting alerts outside my specified zone

Glad you're enjoying the software! Thanks for the compliments. It will likely help to know that for normal region rules the center point of the object is used for tracking. For "on top of" regions, the middle point of the bottom edge of the bounding box is used. You can select "View -...

Re: How to upgrade a Cisco 3945 to a 3945E ?

I'm afraid I'm not quite sure what you're asking. If you'd care to elaborate on what you're trying to do (and how it is related to Sighthound Video) we'd be glad to help.

Re: Password sent in plain text over the internet from mobil

Hi, I feared my post was growing longer than anyone would read, so there are indeed a number of possibilities I left out. Pre-packaging a self signed SSL cert *for mobile apps only* is something that we've talked about adding into an upcoming release. One challenge there comes from the complication ...

Re: Multiple computers for processing

Hiya webloader, You're absolutely correct that distributing load across machines would be a requirement for an enterprise version. I'm afraid I can't really speak in detail at the moment about what the technical requirements or limitations would be, or how it would manifest itself across versions an...
