Re: Exclude area from detection

You can select to exclude an area from the whole image (the opposite of selecting an area within the whole image to detect motion)... Also... You can add additional points to the area boundry, so you can make something other than a 4 sided area... I have not tried this, but maybe you could add an ad...

Re: error occured - CPU usage 100% -

I'll second that Laptop Overheating theory. Laptops are great PCs but they are so compact that they have a very hard time venting the heat well enough to run 24/7 at the intensity that video processing requires.

Re: Mask not working

VDV could also be triggering on shadows in the gap under the door, so you may have to define the area such as to exclude that space and a few inches on "this" side of the door (however far the shadows extend into the room).

Re: Memory leak on Mac verision

I am not a MAC person, so I cannot offer any specific info, but I had some odd problems with particular cameras on a particular PC. I could not connect two particular models of cameras at the same time on a PC I had (they were happy on a different PC!). So I suggest that you see if the memory leak o...

Re: Just a moment...

your use of the word "again" implys that you have tried it once before. if so, there is the possibility that the last usage left some files on the disk that the latest installation is finding and they may be corrupt... kind of depends on how the previous version was last shut down and how ...

Re: Video from RTSP camera gets corrupted

You question is outside of the subject of this thread, so it should have been asked in a new thread... except it also doesn't seem to be concerned with the purpose of this forum, namely, Vitamin D Video, which is a video surveillance/motion detection program and has nothing to do with transfering vi...

Re: COBRA SC-1000 USB 2 camera setup

A couple of questions just to verify some info: Is there just one receiver and is it designed to receive from multiple cameras simultaneously? i.e.: the receiver may be designed to respond to any camera, but only one at a time... Or, are there multiple receivers, one for each camera? A single receiv...

Re: Database corruption - bad design

I have been using VDV for quite some time now (going on a year and a half??? wow where has the time gone!). Initially I was running it on a laptop with battery backup, but since the conventional wisdom is to not leave the battery in the laptop when running on AC power, I took it out. That was in the...

Re: Rule

If you look at the text at the bottom of each of the clips listed on the left, you see that it says those videos were "not saved by a rule"... those video clips will go away in about 2 days (or what ever time frame you have selected in the "Tools/Options..." dialog). Only videos ...

Re: More Cores = More Cameras. What about Virtual Cores?

I think that you will find that question is almost impossible to answer directly... No simple YES, or NO. Way too many "Depends" get involved. To really explain it I would need to explain what is going on inside the silicon chip in great detail and this forum is not the place to write a te...
