Re: vitamin d Agent process deleting video files on it's - W

How long have you been running VDV on the computer? How many videos are being kept "by rule"? The only thing that I can think of is that the 65GB is used up by "By Rule" videos leaving no room for "Not by rule" videos to be kept for 7 days. I have never understood how t...

Re: Transferring Vitamin D

It should be just like most other software. You have a license to run one copy of the program, it doesn't matter what PC it is on, just as long as it is only installed on one PC for that license. Uninstall it from the present PC and install it on the next one, using the same license code.

Re: picture quality

Quote If it is not the camera's focus that is the problem, then yes, you may need to go to a higher resolution image. 320x240 is a bare minimum. It is good enough for our brains to interpret the images as recognizable, but detail is lost. Like people's faces are probably not recognizeable unless th...

Re: picture quality

I have to ask... you say that it looks good close up but blurry far away... do you mean when you are close to the screen the image is clear or is it that things that are close to the camera are in focus and things farther from it are out of focus? If the latter, then depending on the camera you may ...

Re: Video Storage

My system has a 920GB harddrive presently showing 193GB available. I have 5 cameras defined (just added a 5th, but it has only been in use one day so I don't think any of the numbers presented here will be affected much by its short use time). I created this system on August 25th of this year (I hav...

Re: COBRA SC-1000 USB 2 camera setup

I doubt if 1 gig of memory is keeping you from connecting two cameras simultaneously. It may seriously affect the operation of the whole PC if they both got connected and VDV started processing the data... it would drive the harddrive nutz and slow everything to a crawl but you would eventually see ...

Re: hidden camera

You have a few options, depending on your particular circumstances. 1) Just fire the house sitter and cut your loses. 2) If your friend's house is close enough you can use their wireless router to map a wireless camera to it as part of that system's Local Area Network (LAN) and watch their computer ...

Re: error occured - CPU usage 100% -

You may have a problem with VDV and that particular computer. What brand and model of computer are you using? The number of CPUs [or "cores"] and the speed of harddrive and other things can affect the actual load on the computer to generate heat that can damage components or disrupt the op...
