Re: Pause camera activity to hibernate?

I don't think your 40GB drive is big enough to hold 25 days of video. I have one camera that views an only somewhat busy scene and in 9 days it is using 54GB. I bet windows itself is running a defrag service trying to keep up with VDV deleting the oldest files. You can shut off the automatic schedul...

Re: Pause camera activity to hibernate?

Assumming you are using Windows and have an NTFS file structure (not a FAT type) then there area several "Dates" kept concerning each file. The one labled "DATE" is usually the same as the "Date Created", so the value for the Hibernation file would not change. When view...

Re: Pause camera activity to hibernate?

Many years ago, Windows 3.1 era, I wrote programs that could throw keystrokes at other programs to control them. I could just enumerate the present open windows, find the one I wanted by reading the title bar and then send keystrokes to the one I wanted. As Winders has become more security focused I...

Re: Failure to reconnect to camera

I had a similar problem with some USB connected web cams... one in particular that would disconnect and I had to reboot to get it to reconnect again. I tried several things, working rather blindly since I could not find any particular event causing the problem. I found that if I completely uninstall...

Re: Vitamin D with linksys camera WVC54GCA ?!?

Okay, I guess the "Free" version is limited to only QVGA (320x240) resolution and that may be the problem you are seeing. That is a low resolution and may look blurry compared to the browser's higher resolution view. I am referencing what is displayed at the end of Step 3 of the User's Gui...

Re: Vitamin D with linksys camera WVC54GCA ?!?

Is this an "out of focus" thing or an image resolution difference? I'd bet on the resolution being different in the two methods of displaying the camera image. The Browser access is probably at the highest resolution the camera can do, but you may have set the resolution to something small...

Re: files disappearing

The "recycle bin" was a Microsoft P.R. coup for all of us humans with fumble fingers that typed a Delete command with the wrong file name! So that the After-The-Fact "Uh-Oh" recognition of what we did can be corrected more easily. I used to make money in the early days of persona...

Re: All activity results were completely gone!!!

I would guess that you are running out of disk space to store video. Or you might have possibly set the amount of space to use to a very small amount. When VDV runs out of disk space to save raw video, it automatically deletes the oldest video to make room for more. Click on the "Tools" me...

Re: contrast of web cam

If your camera did not come with a setup/configuration program (most don't) you should download a program called "AMCAP.exe". It used to be supplied by Microsoft in some versions of Winders, but now you have to get it from their download website (or any of several other utility repositorie...

Re: Video files mysteriously deleted

I'll have to see if I can find "Any Video Converter" to give it a try myself. Thanks. Question: Does the video playback at the correct speed when using VDV? Or is it only when exported/copied and played back in some other player? As to the question of what is happening... well, in my exper...
