Re: External ip address not showing even if port was opened?

Glad you're enjoying the app so far. At the moment Sighthound Video can only display your external IP if it was able to open the port in your router itself. If you have manually set up forwarding, this field won't be able to populate. You can locate your external IP manually by visiting a site such ...

You might want to use a 'crossing boundary' rule, as somewhat poorly mocked up in the attached image. If you currently have a 'boundary' or 'door' rule, the time duration will not be active. These are instantaneous events and will always trigger when they occur and cannot be combined with duration s...

Re: Win8.1 "sighthound not responding"

You can submit a bug report from "Help->Report a Problem". Please include any reproduction steps, and any other information that may help narrow down what is occurring, such as how long this has been occurring and anything that may have changed on your system around the same time.

Re: Too many false alarms

I believe our tracking and recognition are by far the best in the space (and leagues beyond simple pixel diff alerting). That being said, nothing can be perfect and I certainly won't claim we are. Tasks like person recognition in particular seem like they should be trivial to us since our brains are...

Re: BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) crash using Sighthound

Sorry to hear you're experiencing blue screens on your machine. It should be impossible for an application like Sighthound Video to cause a blue screen, it does not have sufficient low level access on the system. It would instead be the ultimate actions of a driver or faulty hardware triggering the ...

Re: 100% CPU utilization on Dell R720 Server

CPU usage is going to depend widely depending on a variety of factors, including camera resolution and stream type, as well as how active each cameras scene is. As I don't know that information, or what CPU type you have I can't speak too much to that, but especially if they are HD cameras it doesn'...

Re: Making Dog Sensor

All video is recorded for the duration specified in "Temporarily keep all video for X hours" in the options/preferences. After that the video is trimmed to preserve only segments marked to be saved by a rule. Those preserved bits of video are kept as long as possible until the disk space q...
