Re: Making Dog Sensor

I'm not sure if you're having any specific problems or how much you've used the product, so along the lines of your interpretation I'll suggest the following general items - If you haven't downloaded and used the software you can grab it from our main page. The Starter Edition is free indefinitely a...

Re: Making Dog Sensor

I did, and I thought I did an alright job of explaining that Sighthound Video always records, but will only preserve the clips you care about through your selection of rules. That would cover the "How do I only keep videos where thing X I care about happens" question I interpreted the orig...

Re: Windows version works fine, Mac version doesn't

Hi Tom, Is the Mac still on the same network? Perhaps it hopped wifi networks. If you'd like to file a bug report from within the app by visiting "Help->Report a Problem" we can see if anything internal to the application is behaving oddly. Can you connect to the camera's IP properly from ...

Re: Choppy Video and Low Framerate using Foscam 9821W

That's definitely abnormal. My first guess would be that your CPU is overloaded, but you've confirmed that not to be the case. If you view the camera in another application such as VLC does it exhibit the same behavior? My second guess is that the wifi signal is very weak. Update: You posted your re...

Re: Remote access with computer off?

Your computer must be on for Sighthound Video to run, and Sighthound Video must be running for remote access clients to have anything to connect to.

Re: Too many false alarms

A link from one of the first few posts explains how region and boundary rules work, and common issues found with them. Your boundary is probably not in such a position that the center points of objects you care about cross it. http://www.sighthound.com/support/region-or-boundary-search-doesnt-do-wha...

Re: Firewall Ports

Hrmm, that's unfortunate. Maybe you can have something post-firewall that will redirect traffic so you can hardcode Junk IPs and later translate into the correct dns resolution? For now you'll want to add 54.84.168.172 as well.

Re: Firewall Ports

Ah, gotcha, sorry for the misunderstanding. I assume your software supports wildcard entries? A standard http/https exception for *.sighthound.com should do the trick.

Re: Firewall Ports

Hi Alistair, As with prior versions of the software you shouldn't need to open any ports in your firewall. No traffic is ever initiated to your application from an external source. If you're having any trouble please submit a bug report from within the app at "Help->Report a Problem" and w...

Re: Security Access Violation - UDP port 1900

I'm not intimately familiar offhand with that segment of the application, but I believe several data structures are created at app launch for speed reasons. One being the initialization overhead, and two being that it will passively listen to devices announcing their presence as gathering that infor...
