Re: Driver-based resolution support for USB webcams

InvisiBill, Thanks for your request. ...yup, we know our current solution is not ideal, but populating the list dynamically turned out to be a bit of extra work that we didn't have time for when we added the higher resolutions in the first place. We've got it on our list of things we'd like to do. -...

Re: Please add an SMS client

classicshotokan, I think you're going to be out of luck here. Getting VDV to add an SMS client would be difficult and costly. As far as I know, it's not free to send SMS directly like that. In fact, many major websites don't use direct SMS clients and instead use the email solution. It may be possib...

Re: Please support sFTP and email "auth" optional

classicshotokan, Weird. The only thing I can think of is that the SMTP server you are using (or the port you are connecting to) actually does want auth information and is giving an auth error saying that it expected auth. Do you have the SMTP server information? Is this something I can try myself, o...

Re: Vitamin D Agent quit unexpectedly

Sorry this is happening. It is not something that we've seen outside of development builds, so we'd definitely like to know what's going wrong so we can fix it. As Ryan said, the "report a bug" may provide some insight. However, in this particular case, the crash is happening in a bit of t...

Re: Please support sFTP and email "auth" optional

classicshotokan, Yup, sFTP would be nice. It's on the list of things we'd like to do... Auth is actually optional, though I'll admit it's not obvious. If you simply have a blank username and password, the program will not attempt to authenticate. Sorry that part isn't more intuitive. :( Glad you lik...

Re: Interference with 2.4 ghz cordless phone

...another thing to try is to see if you can change the channels on either the phone or the WiFi. Many WiFi routers default to "automatic" for channel selection. You can try forcing things to 1, 6, or 11 (the three most separate channels) to see if that makes anything better. If none of th...

Re: Hauppauge Wintv 418 Video Capture

DG, Looking under the "Video Capture Pin" is the right place to look. Hmm, so only 720 x 480 is there? We should be using that one then. Hrmmmmm. I'm not sure I have any good ideas, unless there is some other program trying to access it at the same time as VDV and that is confusing things....

Re: Question on licensing

djheini, There's no problem moving the license between your computers, even between Mac and Windows. NOTE: Transferring old data between computers is a little trickier. It is possible, but requires you to delete one of the preference files and put the files in exactly the right place. If you're plan...

Re: Hauppauge Wintv 418 Video Capture

DG, Is this the starter edition? It is possible that the driver for the video capture is having trouble when we request video at 320x240. Can you try that resolution in Amcap and see if you get similar problems? Also: make sure no other programs are accessing the camera while Vitamin D tries to acce...
