Re: Program started once, then never again

alz, We did find a bug somewhat recently where that can happen if you launch Vitamin D Video with the computer's date set way into the future. That can sometimes prevent future launches of the program. If you just want to start VDV from scratch, that is the easiest (and should fix things even if the...

Re: Recording While logged off

darrell257,

If you log off, it will stop recording. However, if you simply go back to the Login Window and stay logged in, recording will continue.

Re: IO

brutus, You can do half of this at the moment, though it's a bit hacky. Specifically, you can use the "external command" response in the paid editions to run an external program that trips one of the Axis outputs. The easiest external command to do something like this is "curl", ...

Re: New User

Another possible solution that is very low tech: have Vitamin D Video store the video on a USB drive, then lock that drive down somehow (locked drawer, lock to desk, etc). It is possible that a thief wouldn't bother stealing a measly USB disk if you make it a little difficult for them.

Re: Feature Feedback

Paul, Agreed that it would definitely be nice to be able to re-stream webcams from within Vitamin D Video. ...in the short term, though, I think some people have had success using a program called "WebcamXP". I can't vouch for it, but figured I'd pass along the info. Here's a post on our o...

Re: Feature Feedback

Paul, Thanks for your feedback. Glad you like the program! A few quick thoughts: 1. It's definitely on our list to think about resizing issues, though they haven't made it to the top of the list yet. You bring up some interesting angles on it, though. I hadn't thought about wanting to pin the window...

Re: Video does not work when computer is moved to a new loca

Lindsey, I would probably look for something that looks like "Asus Power Manager". You could check through your start menu or the Control Panel. I don't know for sure if that's what it's called, but it's a start. You might also be able to ask Asus for help with it. One other note: only one...

Re: Video does not work when computer is moved to a new loca

lmarrow, What type of laptop is it? Do other programs (skype, instant messenger programs, etc) work with the camera when it is away from home? We had a recent report from one user with an Acer laptop that sounds very similar to this. I looked into it and concluded that there must be some type of pow...

lmarrow,

What type of camera do you have? How do you have it configured?

Re: A couple of questions

Esch, Are you looking at the actual video files on disk? Those aren't really intended to be viewed directly (though it is nice that you can if you really want to). The video files on disk are split up semi-arbitrarily--basically whenever it is convenient for the program to split them up. If you want...
