Re: UPnP problem

toolpusher, Glad VDV is working well for you now. Ugh, the blank password problem. This problem only occurs on certain cameras, and we generally have tried to document it only for relevant cameras in the help text for the cameras. However, since the Foscam models are all user reported (we've never s...

Re: Vitamin D not following the industry evolution

John, On my Android phone, I use "IP Cam Viewer Pro" to get a live feed of my camera. I think it exists for iPhone/iPad too. It's a totally separate product from Vitamin D and just talks straight to my camera (which means I needed to punch holes through my router myself), but it provides a...

Re: Trouble getting commands to run

I'm not too surprised by the need to wrap in a shell script, though I'd need to debug the exact scenario. Specifically, it's very possible that some environment variables needed to run your php are setup in your .bashrc or something similar. If you don't run through the shell, those variables will n...

Re: Trouble getting commands to run

Andy, You can find where your logs are stored by looking up a few directories from where the video is stored. That's in the reference guide here: <http://www.vitamindinc.com/support/ref_guide_tips_16.html>. As an example, on the Mac the video is stored at "/Users/<your user name>/Library/Applic...

Re: Vitamin D not following the industry evolution

Hi guys, ...so I don't know that you should take this as the "official stance", but I'll give my $0.02 on the question... As has been mentioned elsewhere in the forums, we are not working full time on Vitamin D Video at the moment. We all love the product and are continuing to support it (...

Re: Video from RTSP camera gets corrupted

nimble99, I can confirm that Vitamin D Video is not using OpenRTSP. It uses FFMPEG to fetch the RTSP directly. Sorry! ...one other thing to try: try adding "?tcp" to the end of your stream path. That can tip FFMPEG off try to use TCP instead of UDP to make the connection and sometimes can ...

Re: Mask not working

Billh210, You say that it still "records" things that aren't matched by the rule. You should be aware that Vitamin D records _all_ video for a period of time (2 days by default). After that, Vitamin D Video will clean up any video that is not marked for saving. Thus, you will have all vide...

Re: error occured - CPU usage 100% -

gbell007, The best theory I can come up with is that your laptop is overheating. Two of my last three laptops have had problems like this, which seemed to get worse with age. As the laptop gets hotter, thermal throttling kicks in and the whole thing slows down. Eventually it crashes. Things to try: ...

Re: Just a moment...

coljay,

That sounds strange to me. Something is interfering with the startup process or with the communication of the different parts of Vitamin D Video. Are there any log files in the locations that Semper refers to? Sometimes looking at those can be a hint in cases like this one.
