Re: Poor Performance

Have you tried connecting the camera using a different USB socket on the PC? It is possible that the socket it is on now is on the same USB Host Controller that some other device is using (such as the harddrive) and Host Controller's bandwidth is overloaded. Try more than one different socket, too! ...

switch main display to camera with motion

I would like the rules to have a feature that would make the main live display window switch to the camera that has just had motion detected. Make it a checkbox in the rule definition such that the user could select which cameras will change the display; then some cameras would never switch automati...

Re: Random Blur

I think he is seeing the "Code: Select All" text at the top of the two images of what to change from/to. I think that is just an artifact of your copy function to create the images to display and have nothing to do with what is to be changed. @ Wanab: Change the "Stream Path" tex...

Re: Recording shows no movement

I don't understand why people are still asking these questions! Ryan and the principles of Sighthound have to be nice to the customer, but since I am a customer, I can be a bit more irate at you! If you READ THE INSTRUCTIONS... or through these forums... You will see the answers to your conjectures ...

Re: Record while something/someone is in bounding box.

You are confusing a "CLIP" with the raw video... ALL video is recorded to the harddisk and is viewable for the amount of time you have set in the program setup (I think the default is 2 days, if you don't change it). At that point all the data is deleted UNLESS it matches a rule. The data ...

Re: Computer without internet connection

Me, too! I MUST have it run on a PC with NO Internet connection. I have installed the latest version by downloading to a USB memory stick and transferring the file to the Surveillance PC, but when installed it says I have 90 days to get it verified and then it will stop working. No can do!

Re: KWorld USB Issue - Multiple Camera

I hesitate to post this, but will anyway... take it for you want or can get from it. Maybe we can get someone else to either confirm or destroy my findings. I have not been able to get 2 of the same brand & model of USB cameras to run simultaneously. I have several USB cameras of various brands ...

Re: getting alerts outside my specified zone

I have a similar problem and at least partially solved it by tilting the camera(s) to get the street to be horizontal in the scene. In your case you would need to tilt the camera to the left to get the left side of the street higher in the scene. Because the software always treats the area where mot...

Auto-Switch main display to camera that has motion.

With my present setup, if I am sitting there paying close attention to the thumbnail video images and can click on them, I can watch a person on the main view as they walk around my property, going from one view to the next. I have been thinking that it would be nice if one could set a flag in any r...

Re: Reliably Record/Always Record

As a long time user of this software, I think it is THE ideal solution for you. It does record ALL video to the harddrive, motion or no motion, and you can review it with only a little bit of understanding of the Review mode of the program. It also marks in a database the time of ANY motion detected...
