Re: processing video

If you have 48 hours of video to stream in, it will take 48 hours to do it, unless you have a way to speed up the DVR in playback mode without introducing artifacts that VDV might interpret as motion. (I know my VCR would certainly make a muddle of that!) But waiting 2 days to get the video into VDV...

Not VDV related website comment.

I regularly visit a couple of web forums that use the same phpBB forum software like this VDV product forum does. But the other forum does not have near the number of oddball member names (Yes, mine is quite out of the ordinary, but at least it is pronounceable and has meaning in Latin!) as this one...

Re: Memory leak

CONSTERNATIONS! Here is the same view on my system, running 5 cameras. As you can see my system has been up and running for 24 days 10 hours +. VitaminVideo.png So what is different? My PC has more physical memory than yours (6GB vs 4GB), but that should not be the problem. Besides, I am only using ...

Re: Quit application and PC shutdown

My area of expertise is in the PC/Windows arena so I don't know if the MAC devices have the same features, but with a Windows Laptop/notebook PC there are settings in the Windows Control Panel "Power" applet where the user can determine what happens when the lid/display of the computer is ...

Re: Quit application and PC shutdown

Depends on how much of the computer "system" you actually shut off when you say you "shut it down". Whether you have an all-in-one computer or seperate components, your computer is composed of a Central Processing Unit (CPU) that does the actual "thinking", memory for h...

Re: Scripting disabling of video or email alerts, HELP!

Do you want to disable a rule based on the time of day or day of week? Or do you want to disable them because of some other random event? VDV does allow rules to be applied based on time/day. Once a rule is defined, you can click on the blue link in the center of the line that lists that rule (below...

Re: Stop recording Temporary Videos?

If you are concerned with the long list in the View mode showing all the motion clips (rule and non-rule) then you can reduce that to just the rule-saved clips by selecting which rule in the "Look For:" list. This will limit the list to only those videos that match the rule. If you have mu...

Re: Memory leak

No insults have been offered... just friendly suggestions based on other's experiences and no knowledge of your system components (hardware or software) or your level of experience. I remember only a few other complaints in this forum about memory leaks in VDV and those issues were addressed, but yo...

Re: Truly deleted?

It is conceivable that the data is still present on the HDD. There are several programs (free and $) that claim to be able to recover deleted files. A Google search for "recover deleted files" will present several to you. Of course every time a new file is created (and sometimes when it is...
