Re: Swann dvr460 waterproof mini camera

I did a web search for that model camera and found many vendors, but the manufacturer's web site does not list it as a product they make! I found another site that claimed to have the instruction manual for it, but when I tried to download it, it could not find the data. BUT, from what I did find, t...

Re: Delayed Intervals for Notifications

I don't have an answer to your need, but I see a problem with the requested feature, as stated. Given the scenario that the Lawn Guy shows up and triggers an e-mail alert, if the rule is then suspended for the time it is expected he will be in the area, say 20 minutes, then you'd get no more notific...

Re: Cannot download the new version

Went to a different computer and downloaded the file just fine.

Sure wish I could figure out what is blocking it on my usual PC!

Just proves the adage I thought up years ago:

Computers are neither smart nor dumb, they just plain MEAN!

Cannot download the new version

I use Sighthound on a non-internet computer so I download it on one computer and then transfer the file to the dedicated surveillance PC. This morning I realized I was not running the latest version so I came to the Sighthound home page and clicked on "Download". On the next page I entered...

Re: Where did Vitamind.com go?

Addendum... I should probably point out that although I think "I" could double the number of cameras I am running, that doesn't mean that SH is twice as fast. I had some room for expansion to begin with and could have added more cameras anyway. I am thinking I could have added 3 more witho...

Re: Where did Vitamind.com go?

I wish I could really "quantify" the CPU usage, but as a long time user of VDV and now a user of SightHound, I 'think' the CPU usage is 'improved' in SightHound. I run 4 USB webcams and one network IP cam, all set for 640x480 resolution. I have always had Task Manager displaying the "...

Re: Using a HP mini netbook with old vit D doesn't work

I don't know if the HP Mini notebook will do this or not, but some video drivers have the ability to make the screen to be a window over a larger video display. If the screen is limited to, say 640x480, you can still set the driver to something larger, say 1024x780. Then when you move the mouse to t...

Re: Where did Vitamind.com go?

I played with the trial versions of both the "Released" version and the "Beta" version on another PC first and decided it was worth plunking my money down for the upgrade to the Pro version of SightHound. I have the "Released" version installed on my dedicated Surveilla...

Re: Testing out software

I think what the OP wants is for VDV to detect when someone is within a certain area, and cause a YouTube video to be played at that time. I assume the person will be standing in front of a computer display showing the YouTube video... I guess something like a museum where a video is displayed when ...

Re: cctv cam k-world usb encoder problem

I have reported in this forum a couple of times that connecting TWO USB cams of the same make and model at the same time is a problem. I have 4 USB cams in use, and I have bought nearly a dozen others (mostly really cheap models), but I can only get one of any one brand/model to work simultaneously ...
