I use Sighthound on a non-internet computer so I download it on one computer and then transfer the file to the dedicated surveillance PC.
This morning I realized I was not running the latest version so I came to the Sighthound home page and clicked on "Download".
On the next page I entered my e-mail address like I usually do and clicked to download the Winders version.
I get a new tab, first, then I get a dialog box that has a title bar of:
"Security Alert"
and the text in the dialog box is:
"Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded."
I cannot do anything else at that point except click the OK button on the dialog box and at that point the 2nd tab closes and I get a page on the original tab that says Thank you for downloading Sighthound.
With great trepidation, I have disabled or turned off all of the following:
IE-11's Popup blocker
IE-11's Tracking protection
IE-11's Do not Track feature
IE-11's ActiveX filtering
IE-11's Smartscreen filter
Spybot Search and Destroy
DoNotTrackMe
Malwarebytes Antimalware
Microsoft Security Essentials
Windows' Firewall
and I have set the Internet Options "Security" tab for "Internet" to the minimum setting of "Medium".
I added Sighthound.com to the Per Site Privacy actions as an "Always Allowed" site.
(Talk about standing naked in front of a target on a firing range!)
And I have rebooted, but still get the same result.
The URL of the 2nd tab (as best as I can manually copy it) is:
http: //8075fad12204030767ba-e5adf2776a209f407ff77e49b51ffce5.
r65.cf5.rackcdn. com/sighthound%20Video%20Setup.exe
(all one line, I inserted 'enter' to cause the line break after the "ce5." and spaces to inhibit the forum software from making it a link.)
I am running Windows 7 that is as up-to-date as MS can make it.
What am I doing wrong? (Uh, other than getting up this morning.)
