Re: turn off temporary recording

WOW, nice specs for your system... I'm jealous! I don't think that turning off saving of temporary video would do anything for you, even if you could. The passing of video data from the camera to the disk is trivial compared to the CPU work required for motion detection and "Person vs Object&qu...

Re: Camera picture Glitches

She said he "WAS" an excellent photographer, maybe now that he has his clicky balls he ain't so good no mo'. And since this is a VIDEO data transmission problem, he may not have all that much useful to add in the way of tips. Personally, I prefer a fried "Bacon Spam" with cheese ...

Re: Poor framerate

To add some turbidity to the waters... I had never really looked at the raw video in the Archive folders. I had assumed that the saved video would be at the setting I made for each camera. But, I just checked them... oh dear. I don't seem to have any effect on the FPS of the USB Webcams. Regardless ...

Re: Poor framerate

Are you able to alter the cam's Frames Per Second setting? Sighthound does not have a way to set the frame rate (that I know of) so I use a separate program named "AMCAP" to get to the driver configuration utilities for the cameras. AMCAP is a free program that Microsoft gave away with som...

Re: Poor framerate

Hmmm... I am running 5 Webcams of different brands/models and have used several other brands/models over the years I have used Vitamin D Video and SightHound. I also have one IP cam hardwired through a router. I do sometimes see the IP cam have a warning that the frame rate has dropped below 10 FPS ...

Re: Limited-hour rules still mark clips 24/7

Interesting. I'd assume the cause of the time not being included in what to list has something to do with the separation of the setup functions... the rule is one setup but the time of operation is a separate setup and maybe the two don't get combined such that the database list does not include the...

Re: CPU usage

While I do like the highest resolution possible for all my cameras, I have found that even at the highest setting, I can tell who is walking by or up my driveway by the way they walk more than I can tell by facial features... they are just too far away for the high resolution to really be an advanta...

Re: Limited-hour rules still mark clips 24/7

Once again... Sighthound records ALL video in a set of files for each day for each camera. It also builds a database of when motion is detected in that video stream. "IF" that motion matches a rule the database also sets a flag that the portion of that video is to be saved. In the list on ...

Re: Recording

The program is continuously recording everything from the camera(s). One folder per camera with a sub-folder for each day. In each sub-folder is one long contiguous data set of the video, but it is broken into 15-minute long files so that if your computer dies, you will only lose the last (up to) 15...

Re: Pink picture

Yes, those seem to be high-end cameras and should not have such problems, but I know of no other cause for this sort of problem than the camera itself.

Maybe someone else as some ideas or other experience.
