Negative logic in marking clips?

I have 6 cameras and 8 rules total. Some of the cameras have overlapping views or present a progression of paths that people can take near, onto, or on my property. I like to be able to view the entire list and look for clips that met a rule, view that video clip and then look at the other cameras t...

Re: Every few days "cannot connect to camera," needs restart

I don't work for Sighthound but maybe I can offer some minor help as I am a long time user of the program and have experienced some things similar to what you describe. I am presently running just 1 IP cam (the other 5 are USB) and I am accessing it with both SightHound and a browser (IE10 via the c...

Re: Recording never stops - I only want it for motion detect

I recognize your feelings that saving this useless data is really a waste of something, no matter how short the time is that it exists. I do commiserate with you! But my consternation is even deeper... just think of how many electrons have been tossed around in the computer, just comparing one frame...

Re: Recording never stops - I only want it for motion detect

Sighthound records EVERYTHING to disk in a series of contiguous files (of about 15 minutes duration each) and when one of your rules is met due to motion, then a database is updated to point into those files about 5 seconds before the motion was detected to about 15 seconds after. This way, you can ...

Re: Will Sighthound support Arlo HD cameras?

All cameras will need some sort of power to operate, so unless you have a massive battery capacity there will be a need for power wires to run the camera. "Wireless" means that the Signal from the camera does not require a wire. Wireless can be either a simple industry standard RF Video si...

Re: Run Sighthound Without Internet

I am running SightHound on a closed system. I just bypass the Registration window (click the "X" in the upper right corner), but I already have a license registered from before this internet-only way of registering was implemented. Of course, I cannot send bug reports and don't get updates...

Re: Why does it take so long to load after system restart

Ah yes... I keep my PCs so "clean" that I tend to forget about clogged folders. I use "CCleaner" to keep my PCs free of a lot of these extraneous files that get left behind. Free and paid versions from Piriform at: "http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner" It has several funct...

Re: Why does it take so long to load after system restart

As soon as your computer finishes booting up, run Task Manager and monitor the processes to see if one (or more) are using excessive CPU time for those 1st few minutes. To run Task Manager, Right -click on the Task Bar at the bottom of the screen (on most systems) and select "Task Manager"...

Re: Internal Timed events?

Never mind it being something in SightHound. I have been having an ongoing problem with my IP cam dropping the connection periodically. It occurs at random times and occurs more and more often as the age of the system progresses. If I turn off the computer, camera and router, and restart them all, t...

Internal Timed events?

Does SightHound have some event that occurs on an approximate 5-minute 55-second (355-seconds) interval?
