Re: Raw file created/modified dates get changed & 2min block

SightHound has stated that the raw files are not designed for the user to interact with them. (I admit that I have found times I wanted to play with them, too!) The whole idea of SightHound (and the predecessor Vitamin D Video) was to provide the ability to peruse the videos within the program itsel...

Re: 24 hour time format on web page

I think that got fixed in version 3.0.2 which was released Feb 9th. At least there is a reference to 24 hour format in the list of fixes.

Re: How to clean database after deleted camera or changed na

I had the same problem once. I selected the camera in the camera list to get just those clips listed. Then clicked on the first clip and then held down the keyboard Shift key and clicked on the last clip. This highlighted those two clips and everything in-between. Then I right clicked in the highlig...

Re: Temporary Video

Yep, that is where I say the logic for marking the clips is sort of upside-down thinking... What it means is that a portion of the clip in the list did not meet the rule, but because it is listed then at least a portion did meet the rule. After the 48 hour delay, the clip will be trimmed to just tha...

Re: Temporary Video

SightHound records ALL video. It keeps ALL of it for 48 hours (that is the default, but you can change it), then, after that period, it trims the video files down to just that which meets the rules you have set and keeps that data for as long as possible given the limit of disk space you have set. W...

Re: settings

I am presently using: 1) Microsoft LifeCam Cinema 2) HP 3100 WEBCAM 3) Logitec Pro9000 4) Logitec WEBCAM 120 5) Logitec HD WEBCAM C270 (Plus 2 NETCAMs over Ethernet) The LifeCam WAS very good, but it went out-of-focus and I have not been able to correct it yet. I think (NOT SURE!) it got hot in the ...

Re: recording when PC off & Sound

Since SightHound is what is fetching the video signal from the cameras and then writing it to the disk, the computer must be turned on and executing SightHound. You can turn off the Monitor to save electricity and not have the light of the monitor showing that the computer is turned on or disturbing...

Re: settings

What camera are you using? There are cameras that have a wide dynamic light sensitivity and others practically no range at all. Some have sensors that have an inherent wide range and others use a bias voltage that is set by the cameras circuitry to limit the signal from the sensor to be within a nar...

Re: Email sent when Rule has not been triggered

I think the problem is that you are viewing the clips with no specific filtering selected. If you select just the rule in question, the clip will show in the list as saved by rule, but may be a bit shorter than the clip you see in the list when no rule is selected as a filter. The system will mark a...

Re: Video Clip Options + Product Enhancement

I think that is a neat idea, but as a retired computer programmer (who has done 'some' video processing software, eons ago) I am immediately drawn to the software gotcha's that crop up. I do not know how SH handles things internally so I am just surmising some possibles here. It may be analyzing the...
