Re: Foscam FI9821W Horrible Picture Quality

Hi macdahdee, My fault for taking that post to email and not following up. There are two issues you are seeing here - 1) The free version of VDV is limited to 320x240 resolution. This is why your camera is highly pixelated and looks poor compared to VGA resolutions. The purchased versions all have a...

Re: Anyone have AvertX cameras working?

Just FYI, I found those in the following manual, which I believe is the same camera but might not be:

Re: Anyone have AvertX cameras working?

Hiya JPElectron, I have not tried connecting to these cameras, and cannot claim whether they would work or not, but the manual does specify URLS to access from third party software - rtsp - /mjpeg, /mpeg4, /h264 http - /:8008 Given that are a number of stream types and protocols I would imagine one ...

Re: Very strange problem "could not connect"

Hi armyturtle, Glad you found a fix, and thanks for coming back and posting a follow up. As for the lack of response, well, that's my fault and I apologize. We have more people manning the other support channels (like bug reports from in the app), but I'm the only VDV staff frequenting the forum. I ...

Re: MAC OS X 10.8.3: email notifications stopped working

Hi JohannesL, What mail host are you using, and what volume of alerts do you generate per day? Do you have another response for those rules, such as "save" selected? If so, are those rules being triggered as well? If you continue having problems, after a few alerts happen that you expect t...

Re: Video transfer on alert

Thanks for the suggestion. VDV currently supports sending clips to FTP when matching a rule, but does not support creating a low-res emailable clip as you have noted. If you have an iPhone a forum user recently posted an iOS remote viewer which might be of interest to you: http://vitamindvideo.com/f...

Re: Can only connect to one Logitech C920

Glad you got it working! I'd always rather help troubleshoot something and the end result be a simple fix than a difficult bug in the software. As for rule trouble, maybe http://www.vitamindvideo.com/support/ref_guide_rules.html or http://www.vitamindvideo.com/support/ref_guide_tips_list.html contai...

Re: Can only connect to one Logitech C920

Hi Paul, In general we've had good luck with multiple identical cameras on windows, provided that they have ample bandwidth and power (not going through the same USB hub for example). In cases where things haven't worked in the past, upgrading/downgrading drivers, uninstalling bundled software, swit...

Re: IR and people detection during night?

Hiya François, I'm glad you are enjoying VDV! Without knowing exactly how your scene looks it is hard to give a definitive answer. The brighter the scene can be the better the object tracking and identification can be, so if it is possible to get a more 'daylight like' image, that certainly wouldn't...
