Works with Ubiquiti airCam Dome

I found that Vitamin D Video works great with Ubiquiti airCam Dome ( and therefor quite possible other airCam's ) when using the custom IP camera setting with either URL... rtsp://192.168.18.20:554/live/ch00_0 = Full resolution rtsp://192.168.18.20:554/live/ch01_0 = Half resolution Note that you mus...

Dropcam

Anyone know if you can use a dropcam ( http://www.dropcam.com ) without "the cloud"? and thus keep the stream within the LAN, I'd then like to record it with VDV obviously. I suppose the reason dropcam is sold so cheap might be because there planning to recoup that cost in getting people t...

Re: H.264 and iPhone/iPad support

If running Vitamin D on a windows PC, why not use any remote desktop (RDP or Terminal Services) compatible app? Here are some, but I cannot personally recommend one as better than another... - http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/remote-desktop-lite-rdp/id288362576?mt=8 - http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ju...

Re: Load program in background at windows bootup

My solution to this has been... 1) http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963905 2) put a shortcut to Vitamin D in the startup folder or use a Windows Scheduled Task to run Vitamin D a few minutes after login (this allow slower windows machines time to finish booting/loading user profile,...

Re: Database corruption - bad design

A few clarifications... I am not a VDV employee - I'm a user just like you. A forum (such as this) does not indicate to me that it is any kind of official support channel, sure I've seen some VDV employee's post in here, but I have the expectation that this is a user forum, if you want support and a...

Re: Audio Recording

As ridiculous as it seems, note that recording audio in some jurisdictions is illegal, see Eavesdropping Law or Wiretapping Law

Re: Database corruption - bad design

Any database is susceptible to these issues if it is shutoff dirty...

The design of your video camera system, including the Vitamin D Video server, without using a UPS (and one configured for graceful shutdown prior to the battery being depleted) is, if I may be honest, a supremely bad one.

Re: Axis Cameras

Thanks much, your right, selecting the correct camera reduced my NIC utilization by 1/3 of the original. In the case of the M1103, which max resolution capability is 800x600, I picked the closet's looking camera chassis you had listed, so M1114 and set recording at 1024x768 I couldn't try the MPEG o...

Re: Axis Cameras

Actually, I didn't notice each specifically in the list (I bet you updated the list since that last time I checked) but I've been using "241Q - port 1" for all of them. I realize the HTTP path to the video stream is the same across all these devices, which is why "241Q - port 1" ...
