Database has grown huge, software crashes unexpectedly

Have a problem with a system that has been running fine for a long time... Noticed that in C:\Users\videoadmin\AppData\Local\Sighthound Video\videos The objdb2 file is huge, like 3.36GB huge and clipdb file is 110MB Any way to clear that out, defrag, compress, or reduce it? Any easy way to clear out...

Re: Video from RTSP camera gets corrupted

I had a similar problem with Ubiquiti airVision cameras. The "blur" effect as in the OP's screenshot would randomly happen, and later disappear, thus triggering motion detection. Honestly I found these cameras to be kinda cheap and low resolution, so I just stopped using them - but I menti...

Re: Network Bandwidth Issue?

I don't think that any one of your cameras is using anywhere near Gigabit speeds - it's more likely that you have multiple switches cascaded (switch plugged into a switch), and that alone is adding "network lag" or your inter-switch links are congested with other network traffic. You might...

Re: Anyone have AvertX cameras working?

Yep, actually the camera supports up to 4 different "profiles" rtsp://<ip addr>/h264 rtsp://<ip addr>/h264_2 rtsp://<ip addr>/h264_3 ...and /h264_4 ...in my installation I just set the 1st one to match the resolution I'm recording at in VDV. But, next time I think I'll choose to leave the ...

Re: Anyone have AvertX cameras working?

Just an FYI - I've got these cameras working with Vitamin D no problem!

In the web-based GUI for the camera you can set the stream "h264 " to the resolution matching what you're going to set Vitamin D to record it at.

Re: adding IP/Internet-controlled siren component

Attach your siren or strobe lights to this: http://www.controlbyweb.com/webrelay/

Set VDV to run your script, that script will need to set the relay "on"

On Windows you can use this: WRctrl, command-line control of WebRelay.zip

Re: Video transfer on alert

I have experimented doing this another way, and so far so good, I can go into more detail if someone else is interested but the rundown is... - Configure VDV to send the clip via FTP - FTP server is actually run by IIS on the same server (or it could be a different server, doesn't really matter) - W...
