Works with Ubiquiti airCam Dome

I found that Vitamin D Video works great with Ubiquiti airCam Dome ( and therefor quite possible other airCam's )
when using the custom IP camera setting with either URL...
rtsp://192.168.18.20:554/live/ch00_0 = Full resolution
rtsp://192.168.18.20:554/live/ch01_0 = Half resolution

Note that you must check the box for RTSP stream, and set a username/password, in the camera settings ( via the web interface by logging into your camera at http://192.168.18.20 )

Replace 192.168.18.20 with the IP of your own camera.

...a bunch of us that went to the Ubiquiti conference in Chicago, IL got a free cam just for attending. Mounting in a ceiling tile is super easy with the large plastic nut. I have not tried any of their other cameras (yet). Realize that their POE is not the standard 802.3af/at but a proprietary POE midspan power supply which is included in the box.

They also announced there would be another outdoor/weatherproof model with IR LEDs coming soon.
They showed off their software, which runs on Windows and *nix, entirely a browser-based interface; it does motion detection, but not people detection like VDV, on an i7 they said it should support 10 cameras at around 25fps each - not sure what resolution, nor sure that I believe it. They said in future versions they will be offloading the motion detection part to the camera processor itself, so the stream to the server isn't constant, also support for recording to the memory card in the camera.

If you are after "Vandal Proof Housing Waterproof , Professional Outdoor Dome" you should be looking at Axis, all of their cams will work with VDV. See: http://www.axis.com/products/video/came ... /index.htm

lucky you ,how was the Ubiquiti conference in Chicago?

I just bought a Mini ,to learn their software on PC & test it on Vit D on Mac, I may get back to you for advice when it arrives

Plan to install series of Air cams for friends biz, dealing with NC distributor ,who says pro ,metal housing coming out soon

it opens in UBIQUITI airCam browser OK,but not connecting to video

Hi pcmac,

I don't have this camera so I'm afraid all I have to go on is JPElectron's post.

Based on that the protocol would be "rtsp", the stream path "live/ch01_0" or "live/ch00_0", the port "554", and your IP/username/password as pertain to your setup. He was also using the aircam dome rather than mini, so it is quite possible that the stream paths or configuration values are different. If you open the address "rtsp://username:password@ipaddress:554/live/ch01_0" in a media player such as quicktime or vlc does it work for you? If not this is not the correct information for the aircam mini stream.
