Re: Poor video quality via remote access

https://127.0.0.1:8848 is an internal IP, so this issue is over wifi? What happens when you configure the IP for external access (with port forwarding on) and access with your phone over cellular (or wifi external to your house)? Any change in video quality?

Right, so this guy has 8 posts, all spam and still has an account? I guess the SH guys are off doing bigger and better things.

Re: more detection types (dog, car)

right. I care if a person, a dog, or a car is in my driveway. I live on a cul de sac and I get a lot of cars that just drive past. Dogs too. What would be great is 'car that stops' vs 'moving car' By using the minimum object size, the visible for X seconds settings and a specified region I have dra...

Re: Mobile app nearly unusable outside LAN

Might be your cell network or the computer running the SH software? I just ran a test on my iOS app over cellular (4 year old Mac Mini server, so not really fast at all) and my 9 cameras loaded within 8 seconds, while any specific camera loaded in less than 5 seconds after that.

Re: Camera not connecting Hikvision DS-2CD2332

I am also using an NVR and Sighthound solution and have avoided all the IP class/virtual host issues by using a separate POE switch and connecting one of these ports to port 1 on my NVR. Everything is configured for static IP addresses (all on the same subnet). The NVR records the main, full resolut...

Temporarily disable notifications

The Ring Doorbell iOS app recently included a clever feature where A 3D Touch on a ring notification brings up a quick way to temporarily disable notifications. You guys should definitely copy this.

Re: H.265

I've recently updated my overall system when I switched my 9 cameras from 1080p to 4K. No way was my SH/Mac Mini solution going to handle that many 4K streams without choking. So now I run the 4K main streams to a new 4K NVR (H.265), and I run lower resolution (704x480) substreams (H.264) to the Mac...

Re: save trigger images to disk instead of email

so ifttt has to be given access to the gmail account? would rather not do that if possible. My Sighthound email notification go to a dedicated gmail account, so no biggie if it was somehow compromised. You could do the same if you have IFTTT security concerns with your gmail credentials. -Tony

Whoa...that some serious hardware. I'm jealous! Care to share specifics about your server?
