Your router itself will necessarily perform DNAT when you have any port forwarding enabled. Machines outside of your network can only address external_ip:external_port, not anything on your internal network directly. Your router will see that you have external_port mapped to internal_ip:internal_por...

Re: Linode LLC

While it is simple to query for the local IP displaying the external IP is a little more involved. To do so we have servers that the app can send a message to which will attempt to report back with what the generating IP was. This is also the only way to check whether the external port was automatic...

Re: Run Command Not Working

Does your command invoke anything that would require the user interface as in your example which launches calc? These types of commands won't work when executed by the cameras as the background parts of Sighthound Video are launched by a system service as the "SYSTEM" user has no concept o...

Re: No Response from Sighthound Support

Hi Alsaeed, Please check your spam folder in case things wound up there as we've been responding to your emails. Here's the core of what the support staff had to say: As to the issue itself, the cause is pretty simple: Sighthound Video requires at least 1GB or 256MB per camera, whichever is greater,...

Re: Lost all cameras

The problem described in the thread you're replying to was about cameras disappearing, not what you seem to be describing which is cameras not showing as connected. Where are you seeing cameras shown as not connected? There was a bug affecting half a dozen users that would cause this on some of thei...

Re: Still on Sighthound 4....

Your support and upgrades subscription is less than a year behind, to make your basic license compatible with 5.0 would be $12. That being said, you should only update to 5.0 if you want, nobody has suggested that as a fix for your push notifications, and indeed there were no functional changes to p...

Re: Still on Sighthound 4....

I made sure sighthound app was able to accept notifications (which it what) Does this mean that you've received a push notification? Push messages are outbound from your computer so it should be unaffected by any port forwarding or firewall setups, unless you've blocked outgoing traffic. * Has your...

Re: License Plate Recognition Indian numbers

The current license plate recognizer has been primarily trained with country/state data from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, UK, and USA. It performs well in many other areas depending on plate size and format though will likely not return the correct location.
