Good afternoon MWeston! (I'm assuming that your nick is concerning Burn Notice, in which case - how's the weather in Miami?) I have an EYEsurv ESIP-MP1.3-BT1 from Nelly's Surplus, which is a rebranded Dahua DH-IPC-HFW2100. It works fine in testing with VDV (I'm planning to work on my permanent setup...

I'm not sure about using both VDV and WebCamXP in the way that you suggest, but you are correct about the pricing. If you purchase the Basic edition now for $50 you can upgrade to the Pro edition later for the difference in price ($150). Information about that is at the bottom of this page: http://v...

Ryan,

Like Semper Vaporo, I'm on here almost every day. Hopefully turning on moderator approval for newbies will take care of it. If not, let us know if there's anything we can do to help.

Good evening Ryan! It looks as though the spam/bot entries are getting worse. We all REALLY appreciate how you clean them out, but I worry that while those entries are there the possible customers that come along would get a bad impression. Are there any plans to increase security? Some boards have ...

I believe that almost all of them do it - VDV seems to be a glaring exception to that. It would probably be bad form for me to use VDV's forums to send you off to a competitor, so Google is probably your friend at this point. I do have to say that I'm still torn. I purchased the basic license as wel...

No, but it is an often-requested feature. I'm hopeful that it will eventually get incorporated, but it might be a while before they can get 'round to it.

Falcon,

I was just going over this thread again and realized that I'd totally overlooked your comment about how you are using a Dahua dvr to supply RTSP streams to VDV. That sounds interesting. Which model of DVR did you get? Any stability issues between it and VDV?

Holy smokes - adding "&tcp" to the end of the string did it! Thanks SO much Ryan! Now I'm having fun. :) BTW, there are 2 streams with this camera, so it's possible to have a high-resolution monitor and a lower resolution one. Using the stream path of "cam/realmonitor?channel=1&am...

Hi Ryan! Thanks for the reply! Yes, I am filling in the fields. My concern was that the URL that is built (shown under the stream path field) doesn't show the "LoginName:Password@", but I'm guessing that VDV inserts that in the actual URL that is used. I spent a couple hours trying many di...

I now know a little more than yesterday. I have a piece-of-junk Foscam (FI8918W) that requires a hard reset every few days that I tried on VDV. When I use the manual setup (for "Other" cams) it doesn't matter what I set the "Scale video to" resolution to in VDV, it works fine. So...
