I plan to use the largest file size I can, and then watch the space usage for a few days to see if I run out of space too quickly. My understanding is that Dropbox has a 10GB limit of transfers a day. I don't *think* we'd run into that with VDV, but it's good to keep in mind just in case it does hap...
Since Dropbox just watches a folder on the hard-drive, the VDV devs would just need to make it so that it can be written to a specified folder rather than to FTP. It's probably on their own list of enhancements that they'd like to do if/when they come out of hiatus. I've not played with Google Drive...
I haven't set mine back up yet (I'm still in the planning stages of this project), but here is the plan at this point. I'll have FTP software running on some PC at my house, though my understanding is that it could just as easily be running on the same box as VDV. If you don't have FTP software that...
I'm pretty sure you're doing it wrong. I reread the instructions and they say to put the updater.txt file into a particular folder. It sounds like you're trying to open it in a browser.
Agreed. I'd really like for them to be adding features as well, but I'm pretty sure that what's currently happening is adding to the list of supported cameras, minor bug fixes, and perhaps some minor improvements. Probably nothing major unless they decide to dive down the rabbit hole of coding again...
You guys do realize that there is another version (albeit minor) that's currently in beta, right? You can get details on how to get the beta version in the Announcements section at the top of each forum section. While that doesn't mean that it's a full-time job for the developer(s), it does mean tha...
ACK! I didn't notice that it didn't have date/time stamping when I was playing with it last year. I can see where VDV would provide adequate evidence on a personal level, but not on a legal level. I purchased VDV Basic, but ended up getting a Swan system shortly thereafter on an excellent sale. But ...
