Multiprocessor support

Hi guys, I have a dedicated Windows XP machine, 32 bit, 3GB RAM. I'm running 2 cameras and it's spiking CPU. I want to add more cameras, but I'm afraid the CPU won't be able to keep up with more cameras. My question is, what are the benefits to the following scenarios; 1) upgrade/reinstall with WinX...

Re: Frame rate limits

Hi Ryan, Thanks for clarifying that. I've got an Axis 240Q quad-cam encoder box and none of the MPEG-4 options seem to work (type A or B). I just updated the firmware on the box to the latest version and still am not able to get MPEG-4 to work properly, even when trying to manually set the URL using...

Frame rate limits

One thing I like about ZoneMinder is that I can specify frame rate limits. I can do this for both monitoring and recording, meaning if there is no alarm and no motion detected, I can limit the JPG frame pulls to 2FPS which saves bandwidth... but if an alarm is triggered or motion is detected and Zon...

Re: Stop asking to verify password on camera setup screen

Hahah ok! Interesting perspective only a consumer software dev would have. Hmm, maybe that's why the Windows XP WiFi connection dialog asked for wifi password twice.

Re: Pricing

Guys, I don't understand this lowball pricing you're all suggesting. I assume most people are using decent IP cameras, which range from $99 to $499 a piece. Or, if you are stringing coax everywhere to run analog cams, what does your video server board cost? My point is, so you plunk down at least $4...

Create an enterprise version

I'd like to see an enterprise version with these features; - The ability to setup a "headless" box that has lots of ram, lots of CPU, and lots of storage and all it does is run the VDV video server that sucks in footage, stores it, and does whatever processing magic VDV does to enable kick...

Stop asking to verify password on camera setup screen

There is no reason to ask for the camera password twice... the user is not setting a password, they are providing a known one.

Re: Why Bother

To the rest of you - the only way to support the developer is to implement it and buy a license, maybe some day we'll get some new features. I know first hand that selling software isn't a get rich quick venture. So until *you* start developing software, and bend over to every feature request that ...
