Re: Pre-Sales Concerns

I've decided not to renew when the time comes. I've done testing and attempted to put various parts of the system into a ramdisk and no matter what it's unusable. Moving on.

Re: Seriously slow performance

Finally a solution to this. Created a ramdisk, moved entire sighthound folder to the ramdisk.

Created symbolic link to ramdisk

C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Sighthound Video (This entire folder) moved to a 5gb ramdisk.

Now application runs normally, quick.

Re: Seriously slow performance

When viewing default rules, the clips really drag now in being listed, and the program freezes up. This freeze was noticed after upgrading on the 2012 server right away from the 3 version to the next verion as well as the followup verion 4-1 and then 4-2 So as a test I installed a new VM of 2008 ser...

Seriously slow performance

Since upgrading to 4.1 and then 4.2 the usability has gone to nill. As a test I installed a 2008 server and after a fresh install it's unbearable still. This is even with a ramdisk for the database clips.

2 X5650 processor cores 24gb ram, 15k hdd. (Xenserver hypervisor client).

Re: Speeding up Sighthound - SSD, RAM Disk and NTFS Junction

I've moved up one directory and created a symbolic link to videos in the directory (So Sighthound doesn't try to create it) and the system is even faster. (Clip list is instant even from remote) If Sighthound would create thumbnails based on a schedule you wouldn't have to wait for that to populate ...

Re: What camera do you use with Sighthound?

I ended up getting this one: http://www.trendnet.com/products/ip-cameras/TV-IP311PI which seems to be quite similar to the 310PI. however no luck with Sighthound. For those who got the 310 to work - can you please elaborate - does your sighthound login to the camera's admin user? or did you create ...

Re: So when can we record at higher frame rates?

That doesn't work, it seems to be locked in around 10-15 fps, total garbage; I need smooth 30 fps. Sighthound shouldn't be advertising those video banners on their website with silky smooth 60 fps if the product itself can't even record at half that frame rate! 1/4 to a 1/3... doesn't even come clo...

Re: Fish eye camera

You're needing to use a internal dewarping camera. The ability to dewarp the image on output.
