Re: Upgraded to 4.0 - Clips no longer play in browser

I'm running 4.0.3 Build 16878, Win 8.1 Pro & Firefox ESR 52.1.2 - 32 bit. Clips play, but ..

I can't find overlays - which used to be an option when adding a camera. Now there's an Audio checkbox.

Setting Remote Access / Advanced .. Live and Clips to Original, with no overlays checked, is the only setting that works for me.

I removed shark, rebooted and the clips still played. Reinstalled shark = doesn't matter. Overlays are hosed on my box.

Hello mikes,

I'm sorry to hear clips with overlays aren't working for you. Please enable overlays, attempt to play a few clips, then send us a bug report by going to Help > Report a Problem so we can check your logs. Be sure to include a link to this post in the report so we can link it to the ticket.

Regards,

-Devin

Just checked with both FF 54.0.3 on OSX and 54.0.1 on Windows (both against SV 5.0.1) -- seems to play just fine, so something else is at play here.

Chrome (latest version) is working perfectly.
Firefox is still a NO-GO :)
When you click the play button, the search bar jumps to the end and wont do anything else.

Also, Clips on android is also not working (Android 6.0.1)
=> Previews are loading, but the actual video wont play

--------------------------------------
Clip Load Error
The clip could not be loaded.
Cancel / Retry

Tried on WiFi and 4G

Hello janvier123,

Have you verified that you have the latest version of Firefox, and that it is running the latest version of Flash? You can check to see if you have the latest Flash installed at https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html

As for your Android device - have you tried toggling the HLS streaming in the app settings? This will attempt to use an alternate method for the video. If that doesn't work please send us a bug report from Sighthound Video on your computer by going to Help > Report a Problem. Be sure to include a link to this post as well as the manufacturer and model numbers of your cameras.

Regards,

-Devin

I, and a family member who I just turned on to Sighthound are having this same issue.
We are using Windows 7 and Chrome. Both sighthound and chrome are up-to-date.

I tried to install the CODEC listed earlier in the thread, but this did not solve my issue.
I can also confirm that disabling Hardware Acceleration in Chrome solves the issue for now.

Firefox is still refusing to play clips.

Even with "Firefox's performance settings" => https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/pe ... =inproduct enabled or disabled

Has there been a recent update to these issues? i am on windows 7 and are having the same issues with playback of the clips. only thing that works is changing the chrome performance settings like a few suggested. I am currently on the 2nd day of my trial and like the software so far but the browser issue is huge. Any info on updates? and yes i have the latest Firefox version and chrome version with the latest Flash.
