Re: Reverted to defaults

Thanks for that info. I think I may have figured out what happened. It looks like my "backEndPrefs" file was over written in the "C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Sighthound Video" folder. I edited the file by hand and changed: sS'videoDir' p27 S...

Reverted to defaults

Sighthound today reverted to defaults for some reason. When I rebooted the computer, I was prompted with the Sighthound login again needing my email and password. All of my video is still on the E: drive, but now under options it's set to store video back on the c: drive. In the "C:\Documents a...

Re: Not recording when people are not moving

Missing footage partly solved: I just figured out something about recovering lost video. In order for the +:02 and -:02 to work I had to make a change. When I tried adding seconds to the footage on any custom or non deletable rule like "people" the +.02 just jumped to the next video. What ...

Re: Not recording when people are not moving

How big of a hard drive did you have to use to keep 30 days of video? How did you know how to allocate the two settings for clips and temp video, and for temporarily keep all video? I have a 160gb drive, so I set it to around 130gb for clips and video storage space and 14 hours for temporarily keep ...

Re: Not recording when people are not moving

Thanks for your help. I didn't realize that the program had a +:02 and -:02 to extend the video. I wasn't able to recover the lost footage, but that's okay. Correct me if I'm wrong, but my solution to this will be to get a bigger hard drive. Then extent the "Temporarily keep all video" fro...

Not recording when people are not moving

Last week a group of kids got into my wife's car. The system recorded the motion of them entering the vehicle and leaving, but once they were partially inside and all you could see is their feet and butts hanging out while they went through the contents of the car it stopped recording. It missed abo...

Video not found

Once or twice a day I get a video not found, the clip and preview is black or blank. It happens at different times a day and the computer has not restarted or gone to sleep. I'm running a 3mp Hikvision DS-2CD3332-I IP camera. The camera is set to record 12 frames per second and a maximum of 8192 Kbp...

Region entering vs inside

I have read https://www.sighthound.com/support/rule-editor but, I am confused between the difference of moving objects that are, inside a region and entering a region. Both rules will catch and record movement if the center point of an object enters and is inside the region. How do they differ?
