Re: Sighthound, SecuritySpy, EvoCam

I've got 10 cameras currently..... several more in boxes just looking for the right place to locate them.... The 10 are on 2 separate NVRs. (8 CH Each). They were cheep... +/- $200 w/o hard drives... but I had lots of those laying around. That is where most of the heavy lifting for me is. They just...

Re: Sighthound, SecuritySpy, EvoCam

Well, it looks like Evological went out of business, so never mind EvoCam.

Re: Videos of interesting/random footage collection?

OK, check out a video I just uploaded. I'm not really a video person but I played around with it a bit in iMovie. I think it came out OK.

Not terribly exciting but the forum topic said "interesting/random"...

Re: Speeding up Sighthound - SSD, RAM Disk and NTFS Junction

Good to know - I have a similar setup, but smaller scale. And based on this info, I moved the temp files to the external spinning disk. ⋅ shut down the cameras in sighthound and quit sighthound ⋅ move the "~/Library/Application Support/Sighthound Video" folder to the ex...

Remote Access on iPhone

It seems that web-based remote access requires Flash to work, correct? I don't have Flash installed, but that's OK - Chrome has Flash built-in and so Chrome works.

However, there is no Flash available at all on the iPhone. So is the Sighthound app the only option for viewing on the iPhone?

Saved file FPS

As I understand it, Sighthound is tuned to receive and process 10 fps. Anyhting more is ignored but I have my cameras feedling more (20, typically) just to add a bit of margin so Sighthound always will get the 10 it expects. Saved files, though, are less than 10 fps, and it varies. Why is that? Coul...

Re: Safari: Stream could not be loaded

I guess this is still an issue? I can connect to the intial screen, showing all cameras at 1 frame/sec, but can't view clips or a single camera stream.

Re: Sighthound, SecuritySpy, EvoCam

Just a quick update on this. While this was working fine, recently I switched to (1) wiring up the two cameras that Sighthound was tapping into via the SecuritySpy web server, and (2) switching Sighthound to now point to the cameras directly. I figure that since they're wired, there's plenty of band...

"take action" "send an email" messages don't include images

Never mind - rebooting after updating to os 10.11.5 caused sighthound to lose track of the save location on an external drive. That prevented recording the video stream, which in turn interfered with the "take action" "send an email" messages.

Re-encode saved video?

Hi - is it possible to re-encode (compress) the .mp4 files without messing up viewing the recorded video within Sighthound? For example, using the Finder's built in re-encode function to re-encode at 480p, which also makes the file smaller? Note, though, that built in function saves it as an .m4v fi...
