Safari: Stream could not be loaded

by pmienes » Thu Apr 24, 2014 12:28 pm

Hi, I'm running Safari 7.0.3 on OSX 10.9.2 (both latest versions) and Pro version 2.1, build 14089. Via Safari, I can view thumbnail (live video) versions of my 5 camera's. However, when I click any one of them, I get a message 'Stream could not be loaded'. On Firefox and Chrome it runs OK: I can click the thumbnail and zoom in on the camera. Is this a known problem? Can this be camera dependent?

Hi pmienes,

There are a few issues at the moment with the way that Safari attempts to retrieve and parse video streams. We'll see what we can do on our side to address these in the future but for now we recommend Chrome, Firefox, or IE 11. I'll make sure we add a note about this to the remote access article.

I guess this is still an issue? I can connect to the intial screen, showing all cameras at 1 frame/sec, but can't view clips or a single camera stream.

I am also getting the error in Safari..
So the issue is with Safari and not Sighthound Web?

Hello troystanway,

There are still problems with Safari for some users. You should be able to connect remotely using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox with no problems, so long as you have the latest version of flash installed. You can check if you have the latest version by visiting https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html
