Not trying to hijack the thread, but I got the same problem with my TP link camera.
Was working fine with rtsp on earlier versions but with 2.5 I get "Could not connect".
URL and user/pass is fine. Can watch the stream in VLC.

I really hope this gets implemented.
Would be a very valuable feature to use IFTTT (geofencing) to enable rules in Sighthound!
Devin, if not at the top, do you have any estimate on what priority this is? Are you currently working on it or is it far in the future?

Just wanted to report that I got this exact same issue with my cam. A TP-Link TL-SC3430.
I will try to add ?tcp to the stream link when I get home to see if it helps.

Update: Seems like the ?tcp parameter solved my problem with this. Thanks alot! Also, if you got more tips, don't hold back

Would it be possible somehow to choose custom decoding filter to use for video stream? The reason for this is I'm using a H264 camera on fairly weak hardware and would like to use CoreAVC for decoding. I'm also having alot of artifacts in the video stream in VDV giving false alarms.
